And then who takes their place in D1?
I wish D1 had 16 teams like all other divisions. I dislike the bye week before the playoffs. An advisory committee consisting of coaches recommended that all divisions have 16 teams. Unfortunately the CIF did not take the advice.

Seriously, what the hell?

So, now teams can potentially cheat and have no repercussions at all?
A greater travesty is what happened to Rim of the World. They went 9-1 and didn't make the playoffs.

I don't think it's a travesty, but going by the rankings, they should be division 2.

They actually got a real good draw for that division.

That's a shame, but for a different reason.  I think the SS may be the only CIF section that doesn't take non-league games into consideration for playoff determination.  But I'm presuming that neither Colton, nor Kaiser cheated their way into getting playoff bids.

It's a matter of ethics.

If they violated rules, causing them to forfeit a bunch of games, then yes they should.  But I'm not seeing a record of that.

What are they accused of doing?  Bishop Montgomery type of nonsense?

Totally Agree!.... Norco had almost the same thing happen, they had to forfeit 6 gane I think and were left out of the playoffs!.... It's a total joke that a team would have to forfeit their season and still be in the playoffs.... Put someone who didn't breaks the rules in instead....

They haven't said, but it's either Falsifying Documents or Undue Influence.... Norco's was Undue Influence.... LBP has I think 6 players ruled ineligible for Falsifying documents, they would have made the playoffs but backed out....

What is the point of 16 teams in the SS D1 playoffs?.... To me there should never be more than 8.... You can have 16 in other SS Divisions but not D1....

I would also like to see the TL limited to D1 only, No TL teams in D2.... If a TL team can't qualify for the D1 playoffs they don't need to be in.... Teams with Losing records should not be playoff teams.... OLU should be out this year, they couldn't even beat Servite.... 🤣

There can't be a double standard for leagues. What you are suggesting is the old system where leagues were placed in divisions before the season and only the top teams from each league made the playoffs. Using the logic that no TL should be in D2 is like saying no Mission League teams should be allowed in D3.

Quote from: Cal 14 on Nov 03, 2025, 10:36 AMYes, a bit of irony that teams in the B leagues wanted D-I/Open and D-II to be only those from A leagues... then some of those B teams became A teams.  But, kudos to the Padres for finishing 4th in the Gab.

As for the game (and the season at large), I'm wondering how much gamesmanship has been going on by all coaches.  MHAL teams played abysmal non-league schedules and get to avoid D-I/Open as a result.  Salinas has been calling off the dogs once they get up by 30.  This has been early in the 3rd quarter for a lot of these games, so the end result keeps them under the 30-point hsratings threshold of a blowout, dragging down the Cowboy rating.  Result, they may be able to avoid D-I/Open.

Agreed!!  Most knew this was going to happen though.  I was seriously concerned with the Pads making it through a whole season in the Gab and coming out healthy.  I thought it would be Soquel and Salas at the top but with Palma winning in an upset over Soquel threw everything up in the air.

No way.  There has to be something more to the story.
