Quote from: Steeler01 on Nov 14, 2025, 08:30 PMSierra Canyon IMO is the better team.

A blocked fg
A missed fg
A made fg

Santa Margarita has one big play for a TD.

The rain killed this game.

Or exposed the weaknesses in their game.

Quote from: World Citizen on Nov 15, 2025, 11:24 AMI agree but MD receivers are damn good.  SM would be a really interesting game and a nice change of pace.  Cen10 would be a tough out too, but DLS seems to play them better than anybody over the years.  Really looking forward to the Open and it's been a long time since that was the case.  Hope they get everybody healthy.  Has Chase Young even played this year?

That's probably the most glaring weakness in DLS defense, tall strong receivers or tight ends. You can't outrun DLS D but you can out jump the safeties, fast as hell but short.

Actually on second thought, you are right. 🤣

Thought you were having a seizure there for a second but I guess stranger things have happened.

SC definitely had their chances to jump all over SM, but didn't . Their QB proved to be lacking. They lost starting o-lineman and the drop off with sub was glaring . Once the adversity happened, they seemed to  breakdown somewhat . Same thing happened last season vs OLU. They had game in hand in second half before td called back, then a serious to that let OLU back in game, only to disintegrate from there . Those type of losses you learn from and build resilience by overcoming them the next go around . The potential is there, but coaching comes into play also

As well, and guess what, they both have 2 losse t so cal teams... 🤣🤣🍻

Yeah, I see what you're saying but coach Negro has been playing it close to losing to these other teams [and getting called out on it] for a good while now.

Mater Dei's drop was massive and kind of out of nowhere and can be solely blamed on Lara; which would cause people to jump ship on him. [The discipline issues, and not looking like the "Mater Dei brand"  that has the program in jeopardy.]

I don't think MD has had much, if any drop. Their season just amounts to a return to the mean of sorts. Their schedule has been as tough as ever, and the odds just point to *nobody* remaining totally dominant each and every game against that. There was some good fortune and/or best case scenarios that transpired in many of their best outcomes in years past. In 2018, IMG may well have won a best of 5, 4-1 against them. It's only through motivated delusion of fans that the narrative became MD was totally dominant over that IMG team.

None of the MD folks I know think we dominated IMG. Game could have gone either way. All that matters is the final score.

Wondering myself where that came from. Have not seen it on any of the boards I frequent.

Is MD missing starters?

This doesn't look like a Mater Dei team of the last couple of years.

The assumption that MD is head and shoulders above IMG comes from folks who didn't watch the game, or watched casually. IMG is one of the least likeable programs in the country, and so there is added motivation for many to portray their results in as negative a light as possible.

Venice...errr I mean Corona Centennial, can't beat MD twice in the same season. As I've documented for years, when teams are within the same stratosphere, the team who loses the first game almost always fares better in the second game. And that bodes very poorly for the Indians...I mean Huskies.

Mater Dei is just a mess of a team. Fumbles at the 1, stupid penalties and just bad offense.
