When CE Byrd (Shreveport) beat Bishop Dunne the next year (2018) Bishop Dunne had 16 D1s.

They were a recruiting monster for a couple or 3 years.

Same thing with Lufkin.

Lufkin went 6-5 and finished 72nd in Texas. And they were WINNING in the 4th quarter against Louisiana's 4th ranked team John Curtis who needed a miracle and total collapse by Lufkin to escape alive 32-26 at the very end.

Funny that you always have an excuse on why Lousiana sucks. Maybe it's just built in that way. Lufkin was 72 in Texas for a reason. If their schedule was tougher they would have been ranked higher.

Truth is number 4 Lousiana was losing in the 4th quarter to the 72nd TX team. Doesn't get any more complicated than that

The sad part for Lufkin, TX was after Week 2 going into the John Curtis game Lufkin was #2 in 5A. They destroyed Longview 44-14 Week 1.

Their season just went a little sideways (it happens) after the Curtis loss, but Lufkin did almost take out 5AD1 State Champ Ennis losing that game 55-48 in the last seconds.

Lufkin was actually just a couple votes away from being #1 in 5A heading into the John Curtis game. Man, they had some very nice players. I actually watched this game and thought to myself Lufkin's going to do some damage in Texas.

Also last year, Ridgland,MS beat BR Catholic, but lost to Ravenwood. The same Ravenwood team that got destroyed by TN state champ Oakland 62-21. Oakland (or even Baylor, Brentwood Academy or McCallie) all would run through Lousyana like a knife through warm butter.

Dropped 60 plus on Pulaski Academy giving them their only loss of the year. That's a better win than the 2 games Red Flag posted as the top wins for Lousiana.
