John Curtis finished number 1 in Louisiana undefeated and almost lost to 5 loss Bishop Lynch Texas who wasn't even top 40 in TX alone!

Curtis escaped alive 21-14. Curtis was shutout for 3 quarters in this game.

Bishop Lynch was a 5 loss TAPPS team. Let's that sink in.

Curtis was 18th nationally and beat 5 loss Bishop Lynch 21-14 who couldn't even crack the TX state top 40.

And Curtis scored all their points in the 1st quarter and were shutout the last 3 quarters.

Something is really wrong with this result!!!!

Truthfully and this isn't bullshit, Louisiana's top teams are comparable to TAPPS teams. It's all the same type of football.

Now the UIL is a different animal. Top Louisiana teams have been getting butt drilled by UIL teams for decades

And the Hillbilly, with no shame whatsoever shits on TAPP football.

Bishop Dunne was a first round playoff loser in 2017
Bishop Dunne did beat a pretty good 7A Fayetteville, AR team though.

My best guess is at least half of them, maybe 5....

I don't think this Florida Open Division Playoff is going to work out really well.

Going to be a lot of controversy surrounding the 8 teams for one thing...... and the rest of the state the teams are going to feel like Slappy's who have to play in the regular losers playoffs.
While they indeed may be Slappy's and Loser's they're not going to like somebody telling them they're Slappy's and Loser's publicly.

I guess MaxPreps will do that.

It's really sad on so many levels.
But it's Florida and nobody has fucked their football up like those people.

Two years from now they'll try something totally different when all they have to do is the right thing In the first place. They all know what that it is, but too chicken shit to do anything about it.

"The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) Board of Directors, through a 10-0 vote, approved using MaxPreps rankings to determine the seeding for the new eight-team Open Division football playoffs beginning in 2026. This division will comprise the top eight teams in the state."

Is this how you cope? Changing the subject. Shouldn't you be finding the list of all the top out of state teams Louisiana has beaten the last decade?

I'm still shocked that when given the chance to provide a list of the best OOS wins for Lousiana all we got is 3 loss Mississippi team and 3 loss TAPPS team.

That's it. I suspected Lousiana being this shit on the national scene, but seeing the list, I'm kind of shocked.

Just goes to show you that lies and propaganda can drown out truth until you clear the air and get to the bottom of it

Quote from: Redzone on Apr 08, 2026, 09:31 AMUnderrated: In 2018> (7-3) CE Byrd (Shreveport) beat Big School TAPP State Champ Bishop Dunne 17-14.

Bishop Dunne had a nice little run. They were recruiting some very nice athletes from Dallas at that time.  I'm not sure, but they may have been busted for recruiting. Don't hear anything about them anymore

Anyways, Bishop  Dunne played a pretty good Non-District schedule.
Beat Evangel Christian
Lost to CE Byrd
Lost to 6A Desoto

Bishop Dunne was #12 in TX that year.

Not only that. But number 1 John Curtis (top 25 in the nation) beat 5 loss TAPPS Bishop Lynch 21-14 where Lynch shut them out the last 3 quarters. And Lynch was barely top 50 in TX.

This is not quality football.

Same thing with Lufkin.

Lufkin went 6-5 and finished 72nd in Texas. And they were WINNING in the 4th quarter against Louisiana's 4th ranked team John Curtis who needed a miracle and total collapse by Lufkin to escape alive 32-26 at the very end.

Again. How do you take stuff like this seriously?

Imagine Mater Dei this past year struggling with a TAPPS school

I don't think anyone in the national top 100 should struggle with a TAPPS school. Mater Dei would bloodbath any TAPPS team. And they should. The fact that top Lousiana teams struggle with them tells you all you need to know about the football being played there

That Bishop Dunne team that Brentwood Academy struggled with had 17 D1s

When CE Byrd (Shreveport) beat Bishop Dunne the next year (2018) Bishop Dunne had 16 D1s.

They were a recruiting monster for a couple or 3 years.
