I don't believe the State of Tennessee has ever defeated an OOS State Champion....... not even a 2A Bassfield, MS.

If they have I certainly don't remember it.
Not that big a deal Tennessee is still a Top 20 football state. I have them a couple spots higher than Nebraska.

Florida's actually going to a 8 team open playoff this year. Best 8 teams in the state supposedly.

That's going to reduce the number of Florida State Champions that get worked OOS every year.

Of course you could always have 6 or 7 teams in that open division have OOS losses too, I guess
That might even be worse actually.

Underrated: In 2018> (7-3) CE Byrd (Shreveport) beat Big School TAPP State Champ Bishop Dunne 17-14.

Bishop Dunne had a nice little run. They were recruiting some very nice athletes from Dallas at that time.  I'm not sure, but they may have been busted for recruiting. Don't hear anything about them anymore

Anyways, Bishop  Dunne played a pretty good Non-District schedule.

TAPP Bishop Dunne was their toughest game that year.
