San Juan Hills beat a good Chaparral team last night 38-33.
Big win for the Stallions.

This Southern Section Poll has Cathedral (Los Angeles) #10 and San Juan Hills #14 in CA.
I don't make it up, just report it.
Either way. Looking like these might be some interesting OOS games

#10 Cathedral vs John Curtis, La
#14 San Juan Hills vs Rockwall-Heath, TX

What's JCC ranking in Louisiana?

Most all the preseason polls I've seen from Louisiana have John Curtis in the 7-10 range, but that's every year.

John Curtis was 7-6 last year. I don't see Curtis losing  6 games this year though. Last year was their worst season since the 1970s.

I personally have Curtis #4 in the NOLA Catholic League behind Edna Karr, St Augustine, and Archbishop Rummel.

I don't see how this should be a good game Cathedral isn't in the top 50 in California

On the other hand San Juan Hills snuck into the top 25

I guess it's just whatever poll you want to use.
This Top 25 California poll has Cathedral (Los Angeles) #14 and San Juan Hills #19.

On3 uses Massey and if you want to use Massey then you have to use their national rankings also which are a complete joke right now. No one believes Bixby, Oklahoma's #11 in the nation and etc.

I think it's going to be a good game personally. JT Curtis is getting old and John Curtis ain't what they used to be lately. They sre still physical and run the veer though.

JT Curtis may be the oldest head coach in the nation.
In 2 years he'll be 80.

He's been coaching almost 60 years and John Curtis doesn't have 60 plays in their playbook.. 🤭😭

it's to early in the season to know where these teams really rank.  Especially for Cathedral whose schedule is awful.

MaxPreps has Chaminade #12 in CA.

Cathedral (Los Angeles) crushed Chaminade last year.
Servite also beat Chaminade. Not as bad though.
👇scores below
Chaminade wasn't very good last year evidently.

Cathedral plays Chaminade again this year. Who wins?

Chaminade beat Oaks Christian last week

We'll see how good Oaks is this year.  It would've been nice to see Cathedral play Sierra Canyon to gauge them.

That certainly takes some shine off John Curtis traveling 2000 miles to play a football game.

Win or lose John Curtis won't be scoring 51 points though.
