If a TX 6A team like Rockwall Heath can't beat them, then TX is in Trouble... 🤣

RW Heath didn't even make the playoffs last year, they went 4-6 (finished 6th in a 7 team district)and were ranked 136th in Texas.  San Juan hills was ranked 20th and you're here already making excuses. So much for Cali depth

To be fair, 136 in TX is about 20 in California

If that's true then Cali's depth sucks for a major state.

California gets ALLLLLLL their ink from their top teams. When it comes to the top teams, they are second to none. Realistically, the top 7 in Cali can go toe to toe with anyone's top 7. And could win 4/7 with no issue.

The issue with Cali is the depth does fall off a cliff.

A few years ago a 6-3 Florida team who missed the playoffs beat a 12-2 California team who lost in the state semi finals.
You must be expecting a 30 point win by Northwestern over Orange Lutheran right?

You do know a 12-3 Cali team can play in division 4 or 5 and be ranked in the 200s right? I'm curious, whose this school you speak of?

No I got OLu. They will he top 5-7 in Cali and have good coaching. MNW lost their HC and promoted a guy who has never been near a head coaching position in his life and is an unpaid volunteer. Dade publics are raw and undisciplined and your speed won't matter if it doesn't know where to put it.

Northwestern is a top 10 Florida school.

Tough call. They have no head coach. I'm my opinion, a good coach is vital at the high school level. I've seen less talented teams run circles around more talented ones when the coaching was at such a disparity.

Look for a lot of confusion, delay of games, holding calls, pass interference, finger pointing and special teams blunders that will put OLu in prime position to capitalize on their mistakes.

OLu is a top Cali team. They are not part of that fall-off-a-cliff-depth.

I'm not so sure about this. They got the biggest break in football history by their only competition getting banned from the playoffs.

They could've easily been a second or third round loser and finished 8-4 or 9-4. Maybe top 15. Maybe.

That's always been Central and Northwestern

Quote from: Redzone on Aug 19, 2025, 06:02 AMSo this Orange County Poll has San Juan Hills #6 in Orange County right behind Servite.
Orange County has a population of 3.2 million.

Interesting, San Juan Hills is getting some respect.

They play Chaparal this week.

MaxPreps has Chaparral Preseason #122 Nationally and #18 CA. ..... that's pretty lofty as well
San Juan Hills hasn't played Chaparral in the MaxPreps era.

These teams can't be that bad.

Cajon CA vs Permian TX - Yes (Putting my faith on Permian's RB)

SJB CA vs Eastwood TX - NO!

Inglewood CA vs Midland TX - No.

Texas goes 1-2 in these unless the Little Southwest has improved DRASTICALLY (Midland is still not on Midland "Legacy" or Permian's level).

Note:
Midland, Midland Lee and Permian are all in same 6A District.
Back in the day that used to be the toughest District in Texas. That's where Friday Night Lights originated.
That Texas District plays the most  OOS teams this year.

Midland Lee vs Ruston, La
Permian vs  Cajon, CA
Midland vs Inglewood, CA

That Midland Lee non-district schedule is brutal again.
Allen, Trinity, Lake Travis and Ruston
It would be nice if other Texas teams scheduled non-conference games like Midland Lee win or lose.
Duncanville can only schedule 8 games this year? Give me a break with that.

Inglewood was 10-1 last year.......was thumped by Trinity League member Santa Margaritaville in the playoffs.

I just don't know about these CA teams truthfully. Just like the team John Curtis is traveling to California to play Cathedral (Los Angeles)..... they were 10-1 last year also.
10-1 is 10-1.

It's like these CA teams might not be state powerhouses, but there's obviously  worse teams in California than San Juan Hills, Cajon, Inglewood and Cathedral.

Just my thoughts
