Monroe Neville is barely a Top 10 5A In Louisiana.
They had some hype, but turned out to be like Clemson after losing some key players.

Monroe Neville is very fortunate not to have 4 losses already this year.
They  barely beat Evangel Christian 33-32  Week 1 giving up a zillion yards

Lost to Oak Grove, MS
Lost to St Thomas More, La
And had to come from behind to beat 3A Sterlington, La...... Of course Sterlington is currently #1 this year in 3A though. 👇

My best guess is Monroe Neville will lose 5 or 6 games this year....... truly not that big a deal either way.
A little 2A Public high school in Mississippi almost taking down the huge boarding school giant in Tennessee is a big deal and tragic.

Neville BARELY lost to the 7th ranked Lousiana team 27-23 in a tight 4 quarter war. STM and Neville locked horns until the final whistle. Battle of 2 state top 10 teams

You know who wasn't a tight 4 quarter war? Neville getting a running clock put on them by Oak Grove who won't even be top 25 in Mississippi after another loss this last weekend

You know who wasn't even top 10 in their class? Oak Grove! Before the Neville game they were nowhere to be found. After losing their 3rd game in 7 weeks I'm not sure they are top 10 in their class at all. Butt drilling Neville isn't good enough to keep them in there
I love how that idiot is trying to downplay Neville now. They are still top 10 in Lousyana and got butt drilled by a middle tier MS team.

Fortunate this and that but they're ranked top 10 in the state by every publication.

2024 State semifinalst Neville.

Funny how he NEVER applies his damage control logic to any other state's teams. Shitting on 9th ranked Neville because they got thrown around by 4-3 Choke Grove!!

But it is good to note he thinks the 9th best team in Lousiana is garbage!!! Something we agree on  😊

Monroe Neville has been kicked out of Louisiana Sports Writers Top 10..... like I said. Monroe Neville had a little hype this year but it hasn't panned out yet. They're very fortunate not to have 4 losses. That's a proud program though and they could turn their season around.

Evangel Christian's a scary team this year. Evangel's QB recently committed to LSU and they have some major weapons on offense. If they could play any defense at all they would be a serious dark horse In the D1/5A Select playoffs.

Class 5A

School, 1st rec, points, Prev. rank

1. Karr (11) 6-0 132 1

2. Ruston 5-1 112 3

3. John Curtis 5-0 108 4

4. West Monroe 5-1 92 7

5. St. Augustine 5-1 85 5

6. Zachary 5-0 79 6

7. Alexandria 5-1 68 2

8. Central-Baton Rouge 5-1 51 8

9. Catholic-Baton Rouge 4-2 48 9

10. Evangel Christian 5-1 28 10

Others receiving votes: Archbishop Rummel 13, Destrehan 11, Neville 10, Ouachita 7, Parkway 6, Brother Martin 2, Southside 2, Thibodaux 2, Airline 1, Carencro 1.

Baton Rouge Catholic 35 Saint Thomas More 28
Saint Thomas More 27 Neville 23
Curtis 21 Rummel 19
Curtis 33 Warren Easton 29

All of these teams are similar from West Monroe down. They all beat each other or play down to the wire games.

LCA isn't even on that ranking list and they've beaten Rummel and Carencro.

You do know Lafayette Christian is one of our "2A" powers and plays in the 3rd largest private class, right? We have D1, D2, D3 and D4.
Lafayette Christian would not appear in the 5A poll.>LoL
MaxPreps currently has Lafayette Christian #6 in the state which is a little too high. They have a ugly loss to 4A Archbishop Shaw who Rummel blew out.

This is why you people amuse me.

Class 2A
School, 1st rec, points, Prev. rank

1. Ouachita Christian (7) 6-0 123 1

2. Lafayette Christian Academy (3) 5-1 118 2

3. Dunham (1) 5-1 110 3

4. Calvary Baptist 5-1 98 4

5. Notre Dame 5-1 89 5

6. Catholic-New Iberia 5-1 82 6

7. Oak Grove 5-1 64 8

8. South Plaquemines 5-1 51 10

9. Lafayette Renaissance Charter 5-1 30 7

10. Mangham 5-1 26 NR

Others receiving votes: Kinder 21, Ferriday 17, Union Parish 10, Newman 9, East Feliciana 5, D'Arbonne Woods 4, Northlake Christian 2, Country Day 1

2A Dunham-Baton Rouge has the #1 rated QB in the 2027 class... 5* Elijah Haven
https://247sports.com/player/elijah-haven-46144331/

Most all these teams have good players...... that's what makes Louisiana so special and productive.
Lafayette Christian just had a WR commit to Oklahoma

5A West Monroe's only loss this year was to #1 4A North DeSoto from the Shreveport Metro
For all I really know North DeSoto might be the #2 team in the state.

MaxPreps has North DeSoto #9 in the state
North DeSoto's not going to get much play on the National forums though. 🤣😭🤣

4A North DeSoto beat 5A West Monroe in front of 11,000 people at West Monroe Stadium.
If North DeSoto was from another state there would be 3 or 4 threads on it here and North DeSoto would then become National. 🤣😭🤣

Stop freaking with these people, Redzone

North DeSoto's a good looking football team. They are coached by former Glory Years Evangel Christian head coach Dennis Dunn

I didn't even bother to see that you only used 5A, instead of an all class ranking

Right!
