HA!.... The Reason RSM doesn't let him throw the ball is he is not that good.... And they did let him throw the Ball, 35+ times against both BG and Servite and he stunk.... He Stunk against SJB as well, he had 13 completions 9 of them to #4, If he didn't have #4 he struggled terribly....

I don't care what the MD kid did in 1 game against SJB, he stunk the rest of the season.... Didn't even complete 60% of his passes and 12 of his 16 TD's went to 2 players.... The Top 2 wideouts where he just threw up 50/50 balls.... 🤣

Anyone who has watched both of these QB's play can tell you they are not D1 players and won't start at the next level....

MD wasn't as talented as last year to overcome Lara. This was the least talented MD team since 2015 easily.

Johnson's a six-foot-tall quarterback with 15 touchdown passes and less than 100 rushing yards as a senior; pretty objectively he's gotten more collegiate attention than his profile would otherwise dictate.

As for the Mater Dei quarterback, let's engage in a thought experiment and say that at the end of this season Wisconsin chooses to fire their HC (not outside the realm of possibilities). The new HC decides not to honor the offer to the MDQB, and MDQB is now back on the market. If that were to happen, what's the best outcome he could expect considering that 9 of the remaining 11 schools who have offered him already have QB commits, and five of those are guys ranked definitively better than MDQB.

When I see the nation's top prep program have a QB with measurables but nothing but a bunch of mid-tier D1 offers that's a red flag to me. You know every scout in the country has seen MDQB play and outside of UCF, Kentucky, Wisconsin, and a host of other "eh" programs the response has been "no thanks".

I personally think 3* QB Luke Fahey from Mission Viejo could possibly be overrated, but then again I didn't watch every single game Mission Viejo played this year. He didn't look very impressive the couple times I did see him play...... looked terrible against the Hillbilly team.

He's committed Ohio State and doesn't really look like the kind of QB Ohio State recruits. BUT, maybe they know more than I do.

To me this year's version of Mater Dei just wasn't very disciplined in several phases of the game.

I know this is supposed to be football only, but I had to watch this one on NFHS from my room at City of Hope.  I'm 8 days past stem cell introduction  and I still can't believe they pulled it off.  Now, if I can fight liked the Huskies, maybe I'll see a championship.

None of that means he's going to be a success at the next level (odds are none of these guys will be) but it's pretty easy to understand why he has 27 D1 offers (five of those are from teams currently positioned to make this year's playoffs; rather convenient that you left these parts out) and viewed as a better prospect than Johnson.

I watched him play 2 complete games this year and wasn't impressed. When you hear Ohio State commit you expect to see "really special", right?
