Quote from: Wooderson on Apr 04, 2026, 12:50 PMRegardless of who's on Inglewood's roster it's been proven again and again that if they go against a team with any sort of postseason aspirations they are going to struggle, if not outright lose. That tells me that the "strong" records they put up are less a product of any talent they might have but a consistent diet of weak squads. When Inglewood has scheduled like a top 25 team in their state (last season) the end result is a regression closer to the mean. If I had to guess even if Westlake were to get their clocks cleaned by Inglewood that come December it'd be evident that was more reflective of a Westlake problem than the result of Inglewood constructing a gridiron Godzilla with three good defensive prospects, a promising QB, a box of shoelaces and a can of tuna.

You're so desperate for everyone else to be as wounded as you are when their state loses an OOS game that you create these scenarios where people are sand-bagging teams that have never been relevant in those states for...reasons? Just because you've tied your self-esteem to the quality of high school football for a 4.5 million person populace does not mean that's the norm.

Oh, Woody

That would be such a cool story, but

Inglewood scheduled California Power Lost AI this past year and had them on the ropes.
Lost Ai came back and finally won the game 20-12, but there's not a dimes difference between those two teams, not last year anyways. Pull up the damn video for yourself instead of thinking you are getting  me. Ain't happening, Woody

Lost Ai #14 CA
Inglewood #76 CA

It's like all this information is out there, but you Slappy's refuse to look at it and just want to type.nonsense.

We had this same conversation about Los Alamitos four years ago when you were hell-bent on telling a bunch of people that already thought Los Alamitos was nothing special that Los Alamitos was nothing special. The only difference was that everyone else was more than happy to say that while Los Alamitos might be shit they're less shit than most of the teams the Louisiana backwater can scrounge together.

Los Alamitos being mid was settled years ago; nobody is arguing otherwise. As for how they relate to the Inglewood conversation I'm going back to one of my previous points - Los Alamitos struggling with Inglewood is a far bigger indictment of Los Alamitos (who lost three games by an average of 22 points) than it is an endorsement of Inglewood.

The Cali scene is so easy to navigate in this matter that one can only assume you're being intentionally dense to avoid a good faith discussion on the matter.

Huh?

More importantly, I'm kind of burned out with CA (and you) people on this forum telling me what teams "aren't" just because they play a freaking OOS game.

Same damn thing with San Juan Hills last year and etc........

You and the CA clowns post your CA Top 25 so I know.

I could probably do a CA Top 25 right now and be spot on. I'm just that bright!
If any of you people want to take the challenge just let me know......

But know > bashing every CA team (that won't fit your agenda) that plays an OOS game is just kid's stuff
.

I guess you believe James Madison and Tulane were good because they got slotted into the CFP .Its faulty logic to think just because a team is in a states top 25 it makes them a good team. Just like JM and Tulane all it really means is you have to put someone there.

Actually what I believe is Newbury Park, CA was perhaps the biggest high school football bust last year nationally.

2024: (14-1) #11 CA
2025: Preseason #12 with hype
All the experts had Newbury Park Preseason Top 15 in CA.
Reality? 👇

https://www.maxpreps.com/ca/newbury-park/newbury-park-panthers/football/

I'm just glad John Curtis or any other OOS team didn't play Newberry Park......I would have gotten 5 pages on how Newbury Park is total crap.

Inglewood has been a much better program in California than Newbury Park the last 5 years

And in my California Preseason Top 25 Inglewood would be in..... maybe #25, but they would be in it with the talent they have and 2 Top 25 California finishes in the past 4 years.

Check this out.

Loyola 17 CA Preseason #12 Newbury Park 14 (Rd 1 playoffs)
Cathedral (Los Angeles) 36 Loyola 14 (Week 1)

John Curtis 55 Cathedral 26

I can't do anything with that really.
Something just isn't right.

If you would have asked about Newbury park you would have been told that they had a very good QB but had lost 13 starters to graduation including 4 of 5 offensive lineman thus they weren't expected to be as good as 2024 when they played Lincoln (SD) for the So cal D1 championship

Oh, ok.

That certainly doesn't say much about the 13 teams that were ranked Below Newbury Park in the CA Preseason Top 25....... of course maybe Ararar was the only person in California that had the scoop on Newbury Park.

At this point in time I might even believe that. 🤠🏈🤠

Regardless, I'm glad John Curtis didn't play CA Preseason #12 Newbury Park...... and I'm especially glad I didn't have to mention the great QB at Newbury Park. I probably would have! 😮

Are you better than CalHiSports.com too? Do people laugh at these guys like they do LA Times Eric?
Every poll I've seen had Newbury Park Top 15 this past season.

Anyways, Still glad John Curtis didn't scheduled Newbury Park.

12. NEWBURY PARK 14-1
First Game: Friday, Aug. 22 at Millikan (Long Beach).

It will be hard for the Panthers to duplicate last year's CIFSS D2 title run plus a close loss to Lincoln of San Diego in the regional playoff with QB Brady Smigiel's sidekick, Shane Rosenthal, now at UCLA. But Smigiel returning on his own is plenty enough to keep Newbury Park among the best in Southern California.

Smigiel, the son of head coach Joe Smigiel, is the returning Mr. Football State Player of the Year who has committed to Michigan. He is likely going to break both of Jayden Daniels' CIFSS career records for passing yards and passing TDs, then come up short of the state records held by Jake Browning. Rosenthal, who was so important on both sides of the ball, may be impossible to replace, but on offense the addition of Chaminade transfer Devin Olmande should help a lot. The defense should be more than fine as well since leading tacklers Carter Taylor and Balen Bettencourt are both returning. Another defender to watch is senior DT Connor Schlimgen.

So here's the thing. Curtis was 9th in LA and Cathedral 68th in CA when the game was set.

Curtis returned a lot and was much improved, while Cathedral lost their entire defense (9 of the top 12 tacklers)

So it was no surprise that Curtis finished 3rd in LA and Cathedral 107th in Cali.

Red Flag has an agenda to push. He hyped the game all summer and even posted a live stream link pretending it was going to be competitive. Then when the result matched the eventual final rankings, he played stupid like it was some big feat Curtis accomplished.

Again this goes back to how had do you have to think Louisiana football is where you have to lie through your teeth and create so much propaganda to muddy the waters about Louisiana and their mediocre scheduling and on field success?

Did you notice that the top threads Red Flag pushed hard during the season was when the Louisana number 3 team played the California number 107 team and when St Aug and St Charles both top 7 in Louisiana barely beat Legacy 109th in TX.

Those were the headliners in the state. It's called bigotry of low expectations. Louisiana is so mediocre, and viewed as not being a serious state to the point where Cathedral and Legacy are the teams pushed hard through the propaganda machine.
