Round 2
I'll keep all the Louisiana playoff action in this thread

My Rummel Raiders will make the 3 hour trip to the Alexandria Metro and face the Tioga Indians.
Tioga is (9-2), #34 Louisiana.

I can't remember Rummel ever playing Tioga. I'll have to check.

Tioga has some really nice stuff though.
Their stadium holds 6000, they have a indoor football facility and are currently building a $10 million dollar state of the art field house  👇

I guess I'll pack up the clan and we will make this trip

Another D1 Select matchup.

John Curtis has a Round 2 matchup with St Thomas More (aka STM) from Lafayette....STM is (7-3), #21 Louisiana.

That should be an interesting game in NOLA
STM has a really good QB committed to Virginia Tech

Says the guy that attempts to rank 100 High School Football teams every week from a lazy boy chair.

The Louisiana High School football playoffs are some of the best in the nation.

Solid teams, tremendous talent, nice crowds and tremendous atmosphere.

It's all about reaching the Superdome!

There is 9 classes for 250 teams or less. That's one of the worst in the nation. Tennessee has 9 classes with 350 teams for example.

And with Louisiana only having one maybe two teams in the national top 100-150, and maybe 4-5 in the national top 500, then by definition there can not be any good football being played in the Louisiana playoffs.

If you're lucky, the best class might have a national top 100 vs a national top 200 game but that's as good as it's gonna get:

The rest looks like a donkey banging a pencil sharpener

Tioga WR Kevin Johnson Jr committed to LSU a couple days ago.
They have some nice looking athletes and some big dudes.

Probably never.

Tioga is a 4A school that is apparently playing up.  I guess Tioga has a magnet/open-enrollment similar to Captain Shreve to be playing in the selects.

Louisiana has 4 Private brackets and 4 Public brackets.

5A D1 Select/Private bracket has 24 teams seeded by Power Points.

5A Public bracket has 28 teams seeded by Power Points.

Everyone's favorite poodle pet Bixby, OK plays in a measly 6A 12 team playoff and they're going for their 8th straight state championship.

Can you imagine West Monroe playing in a skimpy 12 team playoff and getting a first round bye on top of that?
West Monroe might could win a State Championship. 🤠

Just kidding, Good Luck to the Rebels this year!
I love playoff football.

Tioga is a strange animal. I really don't know what their deal is. Something about them makes Select and why they play up I don't know.

Anyways,

Longview vs DeSoto
Rockwall Heath vs Duncanville
Ridge Point vs North Shore

Need to get that Texas Round 2 6A Playoff Thread happening.

Rapides Parish is open enrollment so same reason ASH and Pineville end up Select.  Tioga ends up in D1 because in the playoffs schools are divided into 4 divisions vs 5 classes.  Their enrollment has them at the top of 4A and those schools at the top end up as the bottom D1 schools for the playoffs
