Quote from: OdbCle on Aug 29, 2025, 11:17 AMMy last thoughts on Avon, a few years back they went down to Florida to play a team from S. Carolina in some event and eeked out a 7-0 win. That SC team won like two games that year. Avon went on to the regional final before losing to TCC. That seems to mirror what I expect to happen this year. Not sure why Avon would choose to schedule these games when they could easily take on one of Ohio's big dogs (cough, Ed's, cough) right at home.

I think the issue with Avon last night was they scheduled a garbage team, and thought they were getting a free win and go visit Mickey Mouse. Typically you put in a completely different intensity and urgency when playing a real team. There's a different feeling in the air preparing for a team that can punch back. And I feel they weren't expecting it. Like the saying goes, "They got caught reading their own press clippings" 😂

That game was cancelled in the 1st quarter due to weather

Ok. That makes sense. My point remains though, why travel a great distance to take on mediocre teams and risk a loss instead of playing a quality opponent in state? If you're going to travel and take one on the chin, do it with an opponent with some cachet.

I think it's because they like to do the travel with KSA. It's the company who helps out of state teams come to FL and play bad teams. Lol.

seriously it's an all inclusive package of flights, transportation, hotels, food, amusement parks and playing a football game to cap it all off. I heard it runs up to $1,000 per player!!! So I get wanting to get the sure fire win. If you're spending all that money.  Sometimes it backfires though. Just like in Avon's case.

I feel if you got money to travel, you might as well play a comparable team and use some money to do something fun. I feel Disney is for little kids. I don't get that point. They can travel anywhere in the country for that money. Not sure why they want to go hang with Donald Duck in the 100 degree weather with mosquitoes biting them.

Crazy finish. TCC driving and completes a big first down to A&M commit Victor Singleton but he went out of bounds before the catch. Cass Tech gets a sack on 4th and long but gets called for fasemasl and puts TCC in field goal range. TCC runs out to kick the FG with time running out but kick goes wide right. Cass Tech holds on 28-27. Either way, no way is CT top 25 in the country.

Let's see how they do against Ed's & Hoban

Coaching will come into play. They should beat Avon pretty easily

Spaulding taking it to Hoban 44-21 in the third quarter. Lightiing them up through the air. Added a 50 yard fumble recovery for a TD and a safety in the third.
