Time for me to bow out of my own thread.

The SHIT I got to put up with.

Have at it gaybob813 and skip. The thread is officially yours.

Maybe I'll start a different one closer to game time if I can find a live stream.

Why would you start a thread about this game anyways?  Can't you just make one Louisiana thread and keep all the braindead bullshit in one that way you don't spam the board with never ending nonsense

2A Calvary Baptist put 40 on West Monroe that year. That was the year West Monroe's legendary head coach had his second heart attack.

Anyways,  back to the topic of the thread.

If 2A Calvary Baptist (Shreveport) was playing Santa Fe Christian the San Diego boys would be going home black and blue.

But, you got Newman!

Haha self own. 2A Calvary beat large class West Monroe as well. Lol

If Santa Margarita, Sierra Canyon, Centennial, or Bosco were playing any team in Louisiana, the Louisiana teams would be lucky to stay within 20 points.

If Santa Fe Christian wins out in California which they probably will (99.9% chance) what Division in the playoffs do they go to and what teams might they play?

That's something I'd like to know because I don't have a clue.
Seriously the lowest division.  If they played any real teams in Cali it would get ugly.

Yes, The will be Max SDD1 and that will be because they win D2 last year.... Assuming they are Undefeated....

The Open in SD will be between LaCosta Canyon, Carlsbad, SDCC and Mission Hills... Mission Hills has the ex MD QB Ferreira, who is having a good year there.... The cool thing is that only SDCC is not in their league so the other 3 will play each other... SDCC will be the most battle tested though, with games against OLU, Chandler AZ and DLS easily the toughest Schedule in SD....

Last year the Winner of Santa Fe Christian's Playoff Division finished 50 (rounded) spots higher than John Curtis at MaxPreps. 😮

I can say so much, but I'll just leave it at that.

MaxPreps is the Bible!.

Nobody Cares about Maxpreps rankings or takes them seriously.... Except for people who know nothing about HSFB....

You are wrong, but I agree with you.

Some people on this forum take MaxPreps more seriously than they do the Bible. That's a fact.
I use it from time to time, but I think I'm really the only one that's ever posted a state or city poll on this fourm.

I'm all for using State polls and City polls if available and they are normally available.

Those polls don't fit the moron's agenda's though.

Red Flag will use maxpreps whenever it fits his narrative but as soon as it doesn't, he tries to bash it. He will cite it every chance he gets.

In regards to this game, this is the 13th ranked New Orleans team against the 14th ranked San Diego team.

Both teams are affluent private schools with the exact same amount of enrollment in grades 9-12. They are both in the 8th percentile of their respective states, meaning they are better than 92 percent of their state.

This game is as even as it gets. Newman gets this game at home so they will have the refs on their side.

This game should go down to the wire. Every metric says so. If one of these teams get blown out, it will not look good for the depth of that state.

What state and city polls are differing significantly from Maxpreps, specifically as things appear at the end of a given season?

People "care" about Maxpreps in the sense that it's a near-universal hub for stats, schedules, rosters, and over 20 years worth of historical information on those items. That does lend a degree of utility to the data their computers come up with (be it strength ratings or overall team rankings), and those numbers are as good (and as bad) as any other of the major, national "polls". The primary shortcoming for Maxpreps is they hide how they get to these numbers by claiming their formulas are "proprietary" in nature, thus leaving a lot of guesswork as to which fingers they're holding on the scales. Even with that being what it is, Maxpreps has an ass load of data readily available that can be used to affirm or discredit their final result (if they were to name an undefeated team from New Hampshire national champs at the end of the year it wouldn't be difficult to reverse engineer how they got there).

Maxpreps rankings are just as flawed as any other system but have the benefit of housing so much information that it's very easy to be able to look at previous seasons and have an educated guess as to how their methodology has improved.

MaxPreps does have good information especially since Calpreps went subscription on us. But their rankings are terrible.

How many examples do you need or want? I can go all day.

Here's a quick one.

MaxPreps has Celina #20 in TX.
They're not even currently ranked in the 5A polls, Dave Campbell's anyways ....... they are considered the gold standard in Texas.

Let me know if you want or need more

Anyways, back to Santa Fe Christian/Newman.
Dave Campbell has St John's (Houston) #10 this week (dropped) in their Private High School poll which includes ALL the Private High Schools in Texas.  That was a pretty good win for Newman. Unexpected in my head.

That's the only reason I think Newman might be a little competitive tonight.

Holy smokes. This clown just said beating the 10th ranked private school in a state that is dominated by 99 percent publics with the 13th ranked from New Orleans was good win.

How shitty do you have to view Lousiana? That's crazy. Only Red Flag could self own so hard.

It would be like bragging about beating the 10th ranked MAIS teams.

Clown world he lives in
