The most dominant team in Mississippi the last decade per MaxPreps. West Point has won 13 state championships, most in Mississippi.

Championship Years
1982
1987
1988
1989
2005
2009
2010
2016
2017
2018
2019
2023
2024

Ruston has a great pre-district schedule which includes:
6A Longview, TX
5A Select Edna Karr (NOLA)-Superdome
5A Select Catholic (Baton Rouge)
5A West Point, MS

I have Ruston Preseason #1 in Louisiana.
They got some really nice athletes and lots of them.
No sandbagging for me.

I got Alexandria Preseason #2 and Alexandria will play Ruston as well. They are in the same district which includes West Monroe and Ouachita Parish.

Alexandria has a big game lined up with Arkansas #1 Bryant who's on the 27 game winning streak and winners of the last 2 7A state championships in Arkansas.

Louisiana has some really nice games this year in state and OOS .

West Point wasn't even top 300 nationally and they lost to the 590th team in the 5A playoffs and there are 7 classifications.

And Ruston is supposedly the top ranked team in LA according to Red Flag.

This P.O.S  was raking Mater Dei over the coals for playing three out of state teams that are all much higher ranked than West Point.

Red flag thinks Louisiana is so bad, that the top ranked team in the state playing a NOT top 300 team nationally is breaking news, and thread worthy.

Louisiana has got to be the only state where the number 1 and number 2 team can beat their chest about beating the 17th and 24th ranked Mississippi team. Lol.

West Point beat 7A Tupelo last year 28-21.
Tupelo was the Mississippi class 7A runner-up.

I'm glad Ruston and West Point were able to fill their bye weeks. Playing 10 games is always better than 9.
Not often you get a matchup of this quality just filling a schedule

FUN WITH DAISY CHAINS:

West Point's lone loss of 2025 was to Brookhaven, who lost three games. The first of Brookhaven's losses was to Terry, who's season came to an end in the playoffs against Pascagoula of Mississippi Squirrel Revival fame.

The Ruston schedule is a lot tougher than the St Thomas Aquinas, FL schedule..

Ray Stevens at that!

It's amazing how losers pull daisy chains to try to discredit teams. That's so 1990ish

I could play that game all day long, but I've graduated from that nonsense.

If you think Longview, Catholic and Karr are better than Desoto, Chaminade and Columbus, you are smoking crack.

West Point. LMAO!!!

Catholic lost to a MAIS Mississippi team and Karr was tied after 4 quarters to a 5 loss team without their QB and WR.

Get the fuck out of here with that garbage. What a troll

Those teams aren't comparable, but I think he's using an average overall.

If both teams had each others schedule, Aquinas schedule would certainly give Ruston at least 2 losses. None of the teams on Ruston's schedule can beat Aquinas.

But even the other teams like Western, Dillard, Monarch, McArthur, West Broward and McCarthy all evened out would be a lot better than freaking Pineville, Peabody, Ouachita, West Monroe, Neville and Alexandria.

Top to bottom STA's schedule is much better.

Chaminade couldn't even beat 3-loss Cardinal Newman last year.

They have turned back into a wannabe like most of those South Florida teams..

STA is now getting all the talent back like the old days.

Ruston's schedule is just better.period!

Columbus was 4-8 last year and barely a Top 100 Florida team if you believe MaxPreps. They suck!

https://www.maxpreps.com/fl/miami/columbus-explorers/football/25-26/schedule/

DeSoto and Longview are a push most every year.

A team like Alexandria, La probably has one of  the best backfields in the nation especially for a non All-Star team.
Alexandria has some serious athletes this year and they're feeling pretty good about it .

I have Alexandria Preseason #2 in Louisiana. This could be their year. They handled Ruston pretty easily last year. It won't surprise anyone in Louisiana if Alexandria ends up #1 in the Bayou. They are an open enrollment School so they have to get by Edna Karr, Catholic-BR, John Curtis, Rummel, Acadiana and etc in the playoffs

Chaminade has beaten St Frances Academy by 3 touchdowns and State champion Bergen Catholic by 5 touchdowns. Also beat an Arizona state champ in the postseason bowl

They got whooped by SFA in a rematch, and played a 1 score game with national top 10 SJB

Beat St Johns College who finished number 1 in DC

Also beat Georgia state champion Buford to hand them their only loss on the year

This is all in the last 5 years.

So when I asked Red Flag to give me the best OOS wins for Louisiana in the last 15 years all he gave me was a 3 loss TAPPS team and a 3 loss Mississippi team.

Chaminade by themselves has a light years better OOS resume than the entire state of Louisiana in a third of the time. LMAO!!!

I don't think this is true.  Longview has been fortunate to only play Desoto the last 2 years.
