A team like Pacifica is in the same boat as Newbury Park.
A nondescript program that finds itself with a really good QB and has a nice 2-3 year run and will then go back to being nondescript when said QB graduates.Their best player however is the LB/RB kid

Quote from: Redzone on Apr 16, 2026, 07:29 AMWell, they destroyed the Maxpreps CA Preseason Top 25 this past year, beat Granite Hills who finished #13 in CA and Pacifica was a Top 100 team nationally.

If you want to say CA #13 is irrelevant I'd probably be inclined to believe that, but Pacifica still beat them.

Like I said.
Pacifica should get some Preseason consideration in CA.
But if you people insist on pimping these imposters I can't do anything with that

You and your Dumb Max Preps Meaningless Rankings.....

Central East who Smoked Pacifica, Got Smoked by 7-5 Grant who was ranked like 40 something in CA and 200 something Nationally... Rankings are Meaningless....

No one talks about Pacifica on a National HSFB board because they haven't done anything to warrant it by winning an Open or D1AA State Championship or Playing any OOS games or playing and Beating any TL teams....

HSFB in CA is just different, the Playoffs use Competitive Equity and are not watered down like states like Louisiana.... Maybe Pacifica would beat the #1 team in Louisiana, but we will never know because they won't play OOS....

Pacifica definitely seems to be moving in that direction with SD Lincoln and Sierra Canyon on their Schedule, so we will see how they do....  If they Beat SD Lincoln and SC then Welcome to the Big Leagues.... If not, they just go back to being irrelevant on a National HSFB Board.... 🤣

Quote from: Redzone on Apr 16, 2026, 06:56 AMPacifica has won 26 games in the last 2 years including playing for 2 state championships.

Last year a good Central East (Fresno) team beat Pacifica 42-28 in the CIF Division 1-A Champ game.

Maybe someone should look at Pacifica Preseason in CA....... without knowing any of the players and what nots > I would understand the logic.
Why are you bringing up this irrelevant team? Is it because, deep down, you know this middle-tier California team would whip the crap out of every Lousyana team?

Just stick to your swampland parishes, redneck.

Breaking News:

That's the way high school football is for 99% of teams playing it nationally.

Everybody can't be a St John Bosco, Bishop Gorman, and etc

But, you still should recognize and consider those type teams when you make a Preseason poll.

Nice irrelevant speech.

You left off Pacifica beating #13 Granite Hills last year

Would it look better for Pacifica had they beat the #5 or #6 from Arizona?..

Of course the #5 or #6 team in Arizona is just as crappy as #13 CA, but it's OOS,  nan; 🤠🏈🤠

It would look better had Pacifica played at least one national top 400 team during the regular season.

California is that 1%.Nobody cares about these teams that have no chance at being the best. They are feel good stories but that's about it. I get why someone from Louisiana would though.

They played 5 in the Playoffs and it didn't seem to slow them down, Woody.

#284
#184
#219
#104
#98 State Championship game, lost 42-28

When you put together a legitimate Preseason Poll you look at how teams finished the year not what they did in Week 1 or 2.

Is this your 2nd year of following high school football, Woody?

You seem almost proud California can't put together a solid Preseason Top 25.......

Is what it is, I suppose.

Why do the other teams even play football in California? That's my question.
Maybe they should all drop the sport!

Pacifica is 2024 Inglewood with a softer schedule and more playoff success. Nobody cares that they beat a team that struggled to beat a .500 Gilbert Perry squad.

The 25th best team in any state isn't relevant to a national football conversation. This is due to the fact that none of them are particularly viable in relation to the programs that have proven themselves as top-caliber national programs. This is not a California thing, a Louisiana thing, or an Arizona thing but rather an obvious reality.

Good on Pacifica for beating Granite Hills, a team that struggled to beat 6-6 Gilbert Perry early in the season . Does that make California less nationally relevant? Only if it caused the Trinity League and De LaSalle to fall into the ocean.

You may as well admit to everyone you're just a Transfer/Recruiting High School Football homer.
Don't sweat it. You're not by yourself.

I don't know about those other states but Louisiana's Top 25 team last year was pretty damn solid

5A Southside (Youngsville)
Went 10-3 and lost to Ruston in the 3rd Round of the 5A playoffs.
Very athletic and they get after it. Coached pretty well especially on the lines.

As this forum has proven there really is no excitement in California or Arizona.
Why should there be?
I already know the deal. 🤠🏈🤠

Two year old video of a running back that's bigger than most of his linemen, playing for a team that's had TWO guys sign with D1 schools this decade (one of those guys was Malik Nabors so good for them).

"Athletic" = two kids running under 11.2 in the school's six year history.
