So in all fairness, what's your assessment of Lara and MD?....

In terms of quality of talent and maximum level of play, they clearly are among the best, if not the best in the nation.  Wins over STA, BG, and SJB is a resume no one else has.

The problem appears to be focus.  Does that ultimately go back to Lara?  Probably, but these players have had everyone riding their jock for the last couple of years (and the program for several more).  At some point, teenagers will believe their own hype.  The issues at QB this year were well-documented and that didn't help matters.  Not all challenges can be overcome by a single coach, though.

Fell behind Centennial, then stormed back only to fall at the end in the first game.  Fell behind SJB and stormed back, but that time pulled off the win.

But I do think that the program (and many around it) developed an air of entitlement and it bit them in the ass... maybe a little bit like DLS in 2006.  I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing for the continued development of the players and program.  However, this Santa Margarita team may have a say in whether the Monarchs ever do return to dominance.

Totally!.... I hope you guys Dump Lara and Hire LV.... It's no coincidence that RSM win this year as soon as they brought him in...

You see the Same Traits in RSM that you saw in his Championship SI Team.... Tough, Diciplined defense and an offense that never beats themselves with mistakes and kids that are class acts on the field.... He is exactly what MD needs to keep things rolling....

The big issue is you have a Servite guy running the show, so not sure the right move will be made.... 🤣

Totally agree.... I think it's also no coincidence that RSM gets over the hump this year by bringing in an MD legend like LV.... You saw what a great Job LV did at SI in winning the CCS Open last year, he is what MD needs as a leader....

Question for some of you Cali guys. I notice some of the open section runner ups (Pittsburg, SM Serra) played an additional game this weekend. Why don't some of those winners (DLS, Folsom, Riordan) play to see who truly should play RSM for the state title?

It used to be that way.... There used to be a "Play In" Game for the open spot in both Nor Cal and So Cal.... But after 2 tremendous beat down of Folsom by DLS in those games, Folsom and the SJS section Commissioner lobbied the CIF to change the rules so the #2 team in Nor Cal wouldn't have to play DLS to go to the Open so Folsom and their Golden Boy QB Jake Browning wouldn't go all 3 years without playing in a SBG....

So now in Nor Cal the Open Rep is Chosen by Ranking, Committee etc.... It truly is a stupid format, their should be a true Nor Cal Championship game but there are 4 different Sections that would have to agree with it and it doesn't benefit any of them to make that happen because what they all want is to move as many teams as possible from their sections forward to Regional Play in games....

So cal is different because all the best teams and Leagues are in The Southern Section and the San Diego section doesn't care about plying in The Open game, they are happy with playing for D1AA against the SSD2 winner.... So it is cleaner down there...

Agree.... I think SDCC wins the game.... I believe they would beat Folsom if they play, Folsoms Defense is just Bad and Their OLine is not very good either....

I believe Riordan will beat Folsom, they will be a Tough matchup for the So Cal winner, they are a very good and talented team.... The only way the lose to Folsom is if they make a bunch of bad mistakes and Turnovers....

Don't know what Cen10 is doing running up the middle when they can't get any yards.... Stopped on 4th and one on the 6....

Then they give up a 90+ Yard TD to Mosley now it's 35-7.... 🤣

That kid Mosley was insane!!  He will make any QB look like a 5*.  He is easily the best player I have seen play this year. Where is he going?  Whoever gets him is going to get a huge gift.
