Quote from: Redzone on Sep 12, 2025, 10:12 PMSounds like there were some great games everywhere!

I thought Centennial was up big the last time I checked.

I didn't get to see the beginning but it sounds like Mater Dei did just about everything you don't want to do in that first half and more.

Then Cen10 kind of got the dear in headlights look and let Mater Dei comeback. That was the wildest Cali game I've seen in awhile 😵💫

Even though it cost some pick'em points, I'm happy to see Cen10 pull off the upset.

Mater Dei all the way down to #11 over at HSRatings

Ned currently has 6 of his top 11 teams in the country in the CIF Southern Section. Probably not the case, but MV, SM, Centennial and Sierra Canyon are all looking pretty good this year. The playoffs should be interesting this year...

Centennial won but it took 6 turnovers 1 pick 6 a safety and a questionable call to do so.

I actually think MD will be fine in the end if that MD team that showed up in the second half shows up to every game.... If they lose 1 more game though, Lara may not make it through the season... 🤣

Exactly.... And let's keep this in perspective.... Cen10 lost to RSM.... Does anyone think that MD is losing to RSM this year?.... 🤣

Cen10's loss to SM is definitely throwing off algorithms. As much as I would love to see every poll put them at #11; I still think they're at the very LEAST #2.

This is a good kick in the pants for the entire organization. First off, no one's really fearing Mater Dei like they used to anymore. Rollison is gone and the close games and undisciplined nature is causing them to look very vulnerable, especially this preseason and if Bishop Gorman comes in playing 0 games; this could be the beginning of the end for Mater Dei;

At least, just for this season.

If they're lucky.

This was a stunner, but I still think MD is the better team overall. If the team that woke up in the 2nd half plays that way against Gorman, the Gaels might get upset. It wouldn't shock me in the least. Southern Cal is killing it this year, though.

It seems like all the top Ca teams have had games they shoulda/coulda won but didn't . MD to fight all the way back and take the lead, only to give it back on a to . Cen10 was down all game to SM, only exerting themselves at the end but missing the extra point . OLU  losing 24=0 to Bash, AZ, coming all the way back and having a drive stall in redzone as time expired . If these teams play again I would pick the loser to win the rematches . A lot of times the better teams lose early to teams they are better than. Winning State is what ultimately counts . Cen10 got this game but I would think MD will make them pay by playoff time . What a game next week vs BG

I like how @Omaha Vol has them at #4.... They play BG next week, and they get to play SJB so they can get back to #1 by winning those games....

If MD beats BG, that will also pull RSM, MV and Cen10 up in the polls for them... That's a Big game next week!...

Quote from: DreadnaughtAlum on Sep 12, 2025, 10:10 PMGreat win for Centennial. Of course, it has absolutely zero bearing on the mythical "national championship" as that has been reserved for whoever wins the second Mater Dei-SJB game. IMO, there's a good chance we'll have a 2-loss national champion. SJB will defeat Mater Dei in the first game. But, the 2-loss Monarchs will avenge that loss in the Open Bowl title game and win their 417th consecutive national championship.

Your mouth to Gods ears. lol
