I always find it humorous when people tell me what another team from another state would be ranked in Louisiana. That's great stuff!

Check this out.

2024 Season
Ruston, La thumped Longview, TX 21-10.
Shut them down. Solid win!

Ok,
#11 Longview lost to #7 SLC in OT 20-17 in the 6AD2 semi-finals.
#6:Vandergrift beat #7 Southlake Carroll 24-17 in the 6AD2 Champ game.

That puts Ruston Top 10 Texas.
But wait, Central (Baton Rouge) put a legit running clock on Ruston in the 5A Champ game 42-0. That puts Central Top 10 in Texas.

But wait, Catholic (Baton Rouge) decked Central (Baton Rouge) 36-14.
That puts Catholic Top 10 in Texas.

But Wait, Edna Karr beat Catholic In the D1 Select champ game. That puts Edna Karr in the Top 10 in Texas.

That puts 4 Louisiana teams in the Top 10 in Texas in 2024. No state has ever come close to accomplishing that feat.

Someone stop the madness! 👍🤠🏈🤠

I really wish I had more time to play silly high school football games with you people, but most of my free time on the internet Is devoted to important stuff> like gathering important information on high school football teams, players, schedules, college recruiting and that kind of stuff.

Quote from: Wooderson on May 14, 2026, 04:02 PMTeams mentioned otherwise in this thread that have 4+ seniors holding D1 offers (4 is significant because that's how many seniors with offers Ruston has; the other schools in RZ's Louisiana Holy Trinity have less):

Hamilton

Chandler

Peoria Centennial

Arbor View

Servite

Using that as a standard I propose that all be designated as possible national top ten teams.

Maybe Arbor View, NV can play their way into the National Top 10.

That said

Ruston probably has close to 15 players with college offers  NOT all D1s, Woody.
Ruston has a legit 8 prospects with SEC offers though they could possibly have 2 5* prospects.

The only thing keeping me from having Ruston in my Top 10 this year is I am uncertain of their OL/DL at this point.

Ruston did get their defensive coordinator back this year from LSU. He may be the best DC in the nation.

You say that like it's some grand accomplishment; even the worst 6A programs in Arizona have at least three guys with offers from NAIA or D2 programs that aren't attaching any meaningful scholarship money to said offer and are essentially using the football program to bolster enrollment. The better offers are giving you an in on better financial aid offerings but in many cases that offer is not much more than an invitation to go to that school, pay 75% of tuition, and be able to say you played college football the rest of your life. When you're a private college with an enrollment of 3000 students 100 guys paying 50-75% of a $15000/year tuition starts to add up.

Valley Vista High went 1-9 in our 6A conference last year. Their quarterback got non-D1 offers. Ditto for at least one of their lineman, their six-foot-nine receiver, this guy, and this guy even got a D1 offer; they even have a senior-to-be with multiple D1 offers. Guess they just had terrible coaching or "no heart" 🙄

Sorry, dude.

You're going to have to break all that down so I can understand what in the world you're talking about.

If a hot-garbage program like Valley Vista can get at least four guys non-D1 offers it says that not much stock can be placed in those offers.

Nah, you lost me again.
Maybe Louisiana is just built differently.

This past year Edna Karr signed 25 kids.
One of them was WR Floyd Jones in video below who signed with FCS Southern University in Baton Rouge.

Hell of a catch vs American Heritage Plantation, FL. 👇

The average money football prospects get on scholarship at  the FCS level is 21,000 per year. They can get full rides or partial rides, but that's the average. FCS schools can have 63 scholarship players on the roster, but I think that went up to 105 last year. I need to research that a little more probably.

My point?
The video is my point.

So you count FCS players when talking about how talented these Arizona teams are? I guess it makes sense In a weird way..

I never have and most haven't.

Personally, when I say a team has 7 or 8 D1s they are of the FBS brand. The rest are just quality gravy!.

I love FCS football, but nobody includes those players when talking high school football. No one!

Louisiana has 6 FCS football programs. If I mentioned every kid that picked up a FCS offer I would be laughed off this forum. Louisiana produces a shit load of FCS players.

The same Longview that lost that year to South Oak Cliff.

South Oak Cliff 45 Longview 44
Randle 38 South Oak Cliff 35
North shore 38 South Oak Cliff 0
Duncanville 34 South Oak Cliff 12
Westlake 35 Northshore 10
NorthShore 24 Lake Travis 17
North Crowley 50 Westlake 21

Longview in no way shape or form was a top 10 team in Texas.

Longview was in the weaker division.

And Longview beat DeSoto 50-14, so what?

What does that have to do with the Final Poll?

You just don't want to give Louisiana credit.

I get it, but your logic stinks.
