Post updates here.

LT vs San Antonio Brennan tonight. I think LT has a championship-caliber team this year. Not their best team ever but they are very good.

Dickinson strikes first.  1yrd-run on 4th and goal.  Pearland had a FG blocked the possession prior.

Looks like Dickinson has got it going.  After a Pearland INT.  Dickinson's WR mosses 2 Pearland TDs on a 4th-and-1 for about a 25-yrd TD Pass.

Dickinson 14
Pearland 0

5:00 2nd.

Pearland tried to get cute and start throwing the ball when their RB was starting to get 6-7 yards a pop.

The result....a HORRIBLE INT in the redzone.  No points plus a lot of clock used on opening 2nd half possession.

I think that's Pick #3 thrown by the QB for Pearland tonight.

Dickinson 14
Pearland 0

Mid 3rd.

I was in Austin a few weeks ago for the Texas/Vandy game. We got back to the room and caught the local Friday night HS football highlight shows when I was flipping through the channels. Granted it was Halloween, but what I noticed on almost on all of the highlights was how empty all those stadiums were. Maybe it was due to Halloween, but it was really noticeable how in almost every highlight those places looked like no one was there.

Yes, attendance is generally down across the state.  It's not just b/c it was Halloween.  I have no definitive insight into why, could be due to more access to game streaming.

If I remember the UIL used to have some rule against games broadcasting live in TV in Friday. But Live streaming is a different platform and you are right, probably a big part in lower attendance.

I commented on this a couple of weeks ago, but Seashells assured me that the game was a sellout 😄

I must have missed that banter, but yes it was really noticeable and one of the first things I noticed. I was thinking I thought it would be more like a religion down there. And judging by some of those multi multi million dollar stadiums I saw that set empty, I thought what a complete waste of money.

There wasn't much banter.  One or two posts, and I THINK she was kidding, but I had the same thought: where's the Friday Night Lights passion.
