Just move it to the college football thread. It's an interesting topic. I can't believe I am saying this about something Red posted!😂

This political post is a slippery slope. When you click on the link, it's all politics. And Red Flag can't help himself posting Anti-Republican propaganda on a football site. I would advise this thread getting canned or maybe the post get put in the college football thread.

I'm not sure if it's intentional political post, more likely a rebuke of the governor sticking his nose into stuff he knows nothing about (definitely a "stay in your lane" moment). I know it's a state school but the school president should be at the forefront not the governor.

Doesn't the state fund the public universities? Why is it that colleges get to keep their hand out for unlimited amounts of money, but don't have to be held liable for incompetence or damaging the brand? If the AD is found to be sabotaging or destroying the brand, then isn't the right of governor to intervene? And if the governor can actually do what he is saying, then he has the power to do so. So if he has the power, then who are we to object? If the state of Louisiana doesn't want the governor to hold that power then they can put it on the ballot.

First of all LSU football funds itself with revenue and boosters, I doubt it if any taxpayer funds are used at all. Second, Of course the governor has ultimate control over state owned institutions, doesn't mean his public statement isn't out of line at that moment. Have you ever heard of a governor do that in the past? There's a chain of command and if there is lost confidence in the AD then the University president should be stating the plan moving forward. The governor has the power to name every public school (college, HS and grade school) coach in the state, doesn't mean he should.

LSU AD Scott Woodward hired 3 head coaches in 2021.

LSU women's basketball won a Women's National Championship in 2023 with Kim Mulkey

LSU baseball won the College Baseball World Series in 2024 with Jay Johnson

Fired Brian Kelly, probably seemed like a good hire on paper and truth be told Brian Kelly did not have a bad record at LSU. He just was never going to win a national championship, lost control of the locker room, lost the team respect and etc

Now Scott Woodward is a bum per the midget Governor of Louisiana who is now directing traffic and creating chaos.
Just what you need when you're looking for a new head football coach and staff. F*** that guy!

2/3 ain't bad. 👇

The biggest unreported SEC story of 2021 is the head coach hiring trifecta that LSU Athletics Director Scott Woodward pulled off in hiring Kim Mulkey as women's basketball head coach, Jay Johnson as head baseball coach and Brian Kelly as football head coach.3 days ago

LSU just got rid of the AD. Can anyone see a top 5 coach coming anywhere near this job after what the governor just said and did. There is no way they want the politics (left or right) driving the narrative then having it hang over their head. No win situation.

This is some of the Dumbest Stuff ever seen in College FB.... No rational person wants their Governor of their State focused on Hiring a Football Coach instead of their job running the state.... 🤣

The governor needs to worry about helping the folks in Baton Rouge in terms of murder, drugs, violence and poverty because the local politicians had that city in chaos and turmoil. The last mayor left the city in shambles. The governor needs to work with the new mayor and try to clean up the city

Not worry about sub par football
