I think that was the time I realized Red flag didn't know shit about football. And anyone who ranked Curtis number 1. Because you had Desoto who beat 6 count them SIX national top 100 teams that's year and lost a heartbreaker to a seventh, Allen who won state and was top 5 in the country.

With that said the railing against them as a top 25 team is bizarre to me. They have been the best team in Oklahoma for several years now, and like it or not that has historically been enough for said team (especially during Union and Jenks' reign of terror) to be a consensus national top 25 squad. And over the years that status has been justified with the state's best teams putting up competitive showings against nationally-recognized brands like Southlake Carroll, Euless Trinity, and Evangel Christian. Just because those out of state tilts are not a thing now doesn't change the fact that they happened and will be a factor in how national pundits assess the state on the national level.
