Canon has over 2,600 kids and is ranked 71st in Cali. Permian has over 4,000 and is 81st in TX. Should be a competitive game.

This is Permian's homecoming game and there will be a lot of festivities happening this week.

The game will be played at the world famous Friday Night Lights Ratliff Stadium  >  Permian's home stadium.
Capacity for the stadium is over 19,000. Still easily one of the largest and nicest high school venues in Texas. 👇

Except they are worse in their respective states. Permian hasn't been a powerhouse since the 80s.

In 2018 Cajon lost to Sierra Canyon 34-30 In the D3 State Championship.

Jayden Daniels did Jayden Daniels things.

Should be a good game.
Both should make the playoffs in their respective states, I would think.

All these Texas teams play in the same 6A District.

Inglewood, CA beat Midland, TX 43-42 last night
Ruston, La hammered Midland Legacy, TX last night

Cajon/Permian tonight?

Why is Ruston punching down?

Allen, Lake Travis, Euless Trinity and Ruston scheduled Midland Legacy for 2 years (2024, 2025). Midland Legacy went 0-8.

Definitely the toughest pre-district schedule in Texas.

The coach at Midland Legacy believes in a tough pre-district schedule. Midland Legacy ended 6-6 last year and went a couple rounds in the 6A playoffs. Nobody can say that guy shies away from competition...

Why do you say they're punching down?  Midland is a 6A school.  That's the top of the heap in Texas.  Unless you're just funning.

When Ruston set up the 2 game series with 6A Midland Legacy in 2024 Midland Legacy was  coming off a successful 10-3 season going 3 rounds in the 6A playoffs losing to Allen by a couple of TDs . Below 👇

I would imagine that's why Allen, Lake Travis and Euless Trinity scheduled Midland Legacy also. Just a guess

My point is Ruston didn't try to schedule the worst team in Texas they could find.
