Quote from: TheOC89 on Mar 14, 2026, 12:32 PMI Didn't "Ding" anyone, I just stated that College Baseball National Championship are Real because they are played out on the field, while HS "Mythical" National Championship are not because they are decided by "Opinions" or Computer Algorithms....

But hey, go ahead and hang on to those fake Louisiana HSBB Natty's, whatever floats your boat captain.... 🤣

I hate to break it to you, but just because a team wins the College World Series doesn't necessarily mean they were best team in the nation. Most everyone knows that.

Anyways, if high school level athletics are so opinionated and mythical it almost makes talking about them pointless and meaningless, right?

Why do you do it?

Quote from: Redzone on Mar 14, 2026, 10:59 AMYou don't have to tell me how the college baseball playoffs work, Einstein.

You do understand there are like 35 at-large teams in the college baseball playoffs, right?
The committee decides on those teams similar to "people/computer" deciding a High School National Champion>>> resume, SOS, talent, state power, state champion and etc........ doesn't hurt to be from a power high school baseball state either.

Anyways, The real point of the exercise was rather simple, but of course you missed it!

When Fresno State won the College World Series they had 31 freakin losses....... lots of them just absolutely mind-boggling.
Like I said in an earlier post they won the games at the end when they were supposed to win > result,  crappy team wins national championship by winning 7 or 8 games at the end of the year.

You and the other idiot want to ding Catholic (Baton Rouge) for "1" bad meaningless loss just because they're from Louisiana.
Catholic was 38-2.

Is it clicking for you yet?
Try harder!

And just for the record.

High School baseball "polls" are very similar to College Baseball "polls".......a poll is a poll.

Sadly, there's just NO big tournament at the end of the year in high school.......so, there's like 6 or 7 really big national high school baseball tournaments every season and they matter.
They are not 100% of the grade, but if you win 2 or 3 of those and everything else plays out you got a good shot at a MNC.

Neither Catholic or Barbe will win a MNC this year.
Both definitely could be Top 10's though.

Quote from: TheOC89 on Mar 14, 2026, 09:48 AMSo what?.... The point is no matter how many losses those teams had they Made the playoffs and won the playoffs and World Series and the teams that had less losses than them lost.... Their Championship was won on the field....

Had their been no playoffs and their were just rankings, the opinion polls and computers would have named a "Mythical" National Champion that had less losses then those teams in those years and would have been clearly wrong....

And No HS Baseball team with 31 losses would even qualify for their local playoffs because HS Baseball teams only play 30-35 games.... College teams play 60-70 games.... So that's just a dumb comment.... 🤣

Quote from: Redzone on Mar 14, 2026, 01:13 AMIn college baseball you can win a National Championship/World Series with 20 or more losses.

In 2008, when Fresno State won the College World Series they had a whopping 31 losses.
In 2022, Ole Miss had 23 losses and won the College World Series.

You cannot win a MNC In high school baseball with 31 losses

Why can't you people understand this?

Quote from: Redzone on Mar 14, 2026, 12:48 AMMaxPreps had St John Bosco #3 last year.
St John Bosco lost to (14-14) #147 Damien 3-2.

https://www.maxpreps.com/ca/la-verne/damien-spartans/baseball/24-25/schedule/

St John Bosco should have been disqualified from Top 10 consideration, right?

I didn't say anything about who beats who, I said that College National Championship is real because it's won on the field and HS is not because it's an Opinion picked by a person or computer.

Football and Basketball State Championships.

#11 Seed Edna Karr basketball has pulled off a couple major upsets and find themselves in the D1 Select State Championship game tonight vs John Curtis

Edna Karr only won 7 basketball games last year and have a shot to win 30 games tonight.

All NOLA D1 Select Champ game.
#11 Seed (29-11) Edna Karr vs #1 Seed (35-2) John Curtis
The last John Curtis basketball State Championship was in 2012, Edna Karr 1995.

John Curtis worked Edna Karr pretty good in the regular season, but then this might be a different Edna Karr.

Last year National Power Venice, FL lost to (7-18) #303 Riverview.

https://www.maxpreps.com/fl/sarasota/riverview-sarasota-rams/baseball/24-25/schedule/

You say that's pretty bad.
Venice swept a little three-game California series including beating National and California Power Corona last year.

Venice is currently #2 in the nation at MaxPreps. If they were to shit the bed a game or two nobody's going to even care if they put together the resume and have the talent which obviously they must have.

Venice will play in several National tournaments this year

Quote from: TheOC89 on Mar 13, 2026, 07:28 PMNot all teams play in every tournament.... Example, the Boras Classic which is a west coast tournament doesn't have teams from the south or east coast so winning that tournament is Great but is doesn't make you a "National Champion"....

In College you go through regionals, super regionals and College World Series.... High School is jay the winner of an Opinion Poll... Not a Championship win on the field....

In college baseball you can win a National Championship/World Series with 20 or more losses.
