Quote from: TheOC89 on Mar 16, 2026, 06:22 PMExactly!.... And not to mention, NCAA Baseball playoffs are Double elimination, not single so those "Great" teams that are 50-8 or whatever have to lose Twice in the playoffs to teams that have 20-30 losses, so it's not a Fluke it's a Real Championship that no one disputes or can lay claim to....

You want an example of this.... Last year in the JC playoffs Santa Rosa JC was Ranked #1 and was 44-1 going into a game 2 of their Super Regional against Sierra college who was 34-14.... Sierra college won the next 2 games knocking on the #1 team who finished the season 44-3... 🤣

Nice fucking example 🖕. Had to use that meltdown to make your point 🤣🤣.

Quote from: Wooderson on Mar 17, 2026, 08:01 AMThe point being made is that there is no widely-recognized postseason tournament crowning a national high school baseball champion, thus the title of "national champion" is far more subjective than if a tournament were in place. With that being what it is it's certainly open for debate if a team named national champion should have a loss to a 13-13 ball club that was starting their #4 pitcher.

It's odd that you frequent a sports message board where debate is a part of the community's fabric yet shrink and transform into a corn cob any time someone attempts to engage in a debate with you.

Same goes for high school football or any high school sport and what is it you want to debate about?

I'm up, but you always seem to disappear for a couple days after I bring the heat.

Quote from: Redzone on Mar 17, 2026, 06:46 AMNobody ever said you don't get a trophy for winning the College World Series.

LSU has won 2 of the last 3 College Baseball World Series, but guess what?>>>> they still lost to some very crappy teams and played crappy baseball at various points during both seasons.

LSU is currently playing very crappy baseball this year, but they could pull it together and win yet another College World Series.

None of this stuff is really the point though and most everyone knows it when it comes to high school baseball.

Quote from: Bodysurf on Mar 16, 2026, 05:02 PMYou're right, maybe the team that wins the College World Series isn't necessarily the best team. But they will be the only team at the end of the season holding a trophy saying they were the best. And that is the ONLY that matters. The NCAA championship trophy is not mythical.

Quote from: wosinc on Mar 17, 2026, 04:50 AMThat's a gorgeous facility.  You're still being cagey about where the $$ came from ... 😄

not at all, the monies are from a sales tax in West Ouachita Parish and approved by the school board:

The Ouachita Parish School Board agreed Tuesday to spend some $4 million building a new sports training facility at West Monroe High School (WMHS).

During its regular meeting April 9, the School Board voted to seek bids for the project. The school system planned to pay for the project through revenues levied by its West Ouachita Sales Tax district, according to Jared Peters, the school system's purchasing agent.

School Board member Shere May told The Ouachita Citizen student athletes at WMHS have been needing more space in the training facility for several years. She noted the current facility did not include dressing rooms or bathrooms.

"When I was the principal there at West Monroe High School and it was built, it was too small from the beginning," May said. "They're desperately needing the facility."

More than 1,000 student athletes regularly use the training facility at WMHS, according to School Board President Tommy Comeaux.

You can lose games. No one is disputing that. But losing games against JV teams should bar you from winning the title.

Catholic had by far the worst SOS of the teams under them. And all the teams under them had much better wins.

Corona had Better wins and better losses. There's no way Catholic deserved it

Got thumped by the 144th FL team. That's not being serious
