Quote from: LasVegas_JC on Yesterday at 08:12 AMCongratulations to Bishop Gorman for finally getting that monkey off of their backs. I'm very confident in saying that 99% of teams in America would stop playing an OOS opponent if they were 0-5 versus them. Most teams would concede at 0-3 and probably never schedule them again. It's great to see that Gorman's AD Grant Rice finds a way to schedule great opponents on a yearly basis. Also most NIAA schools are now colluding to not play Gorman so the Gaels are probably going to schedule more Trinity league schools going forward.

MD played their first OOS state game in 1959 and was undefeated vs OOS teams until last night. They had a 31-0 record including big wins vs 2018 IMG, 2019 St Frances and 2025 STA. I'm glad that a Nevada team gave them their first loss.

Gorman beating the 2 best teams in California this year should also be noted. No other state can claim to have ever done this to CA.
Da Bishop put it to MD no doubt.  They beat one of the best teams in Cali in SJB. Don't get me wrong beating mater dei is no small feat but the last few years they've fallen off. I said they should have let Lara go before the playoffs last year and for some odd reason they kept him and then there was a huge exodus out of MD during the off-season.  We'll see what they do after they get bounced in the playoffs again. Gorman has a shot at a piece of the MNC this year too. Job well done BG!

Quote from: LasVegas_JC on Yesterday at 09:52 AMAnything is possible, that's why we love this crazy game. Maybe SJB will meet MD in the CIFSS final. We all know that the CIFSS winner will crush their NorCal opponent in the open bowl game. And that SoCal football > NorCal football . 😂
Whoa ... game on.  That's why they play the games 😄

Quote from: Nolebull813 on Yesterday at 05:40 AMPut this in perspective.

West Monroe is the 8th ranked team in all of Louisiana.

Brandon is the 8th ranked team just in their classification alone!!!

This is not serious football
West Monroe is serious football.  They're in a down cycle.  Don't let your hate for redzone taint your opinion of the whole state, tempting as it is.

Quote from: AztecPadre on Sep 18, 2026, 01:10 PMBecause I can. Still doesn't answer my question.  I now live here in texas and have never heard that name. Just trying to get info on why another school I've never heard of on a national board is beating a Texas team I've never heard of. Nothing more, nothing less.
That punk ... 🙄

Quote from: Frosty4024 on Yesterday at 03:48 PMDammit I missed it.

What's the score?

Karr won 21-14

Pretty good game decided in the fourth quarter and almost choked away by Karr.
Edna Karr's head coach Bryce Brown tried to get too cute with his  clock management at the end of the game resulting in a bad snap on a punt.
He was lucky it didn't cost them.

Quote from: Steeler01 on Yesterday at 03:14 PMKarr is number 1 in Louisiana till someone beats them.

Can't disagree with that.
I don't know what it is, but Ruston just doesn't play well in the Superdome. Not sure if it's the trip (long) or how they plan their time or what. Ruston has lost a pile of games in the Superdome including the state championship game last year.

That said.
Only Edna Karr can replace 18 starters and still look like  a Top 25 team. Athletes stacked on top of athletes at that school.

They were better than I thought they would be. They will
only get better as the season goes on is the scary thing.

The Catholic League is very good this year so it will be fun to watch.

Quote from: DreadnaughtAlum on Yesterday at 11:48 AMThis is definitely not the best Chaminade team in school history. They're better than I expected, though.

Sierra Canyon may well be the best team in...the country.

No they're not.

They're a top 15 team maybe 10 but not the top team in the country.

Fakatou is a legit 5 star player though.
