#2 Colorado Valor Christian beat The Kinkaid School Week 1 in Colorado 38 -22.  The Kinkaid School is another Houston private high school. A respectable showing I would guess considering Valor Christian stomped a top Nevada team Week 2 Faith Lutheran (46-0)

St John's will play The Kinkaid School this year.

Valor Christian goes out to California to play Mater Dei this week.

LOL 8th in TAPPS. Like that means anything. They aren't even top 100 in state and we're in a 4 quarter war with the 218th Texas team. Lol. Tied at 14 going into the 4th.

Second Baptist is 44th in Houston alone. And Newman is top 20 in metro New Orleans.

If Houston 44th can be tied up going into the 4th quarter, then metro top 20 New Orleans Newman should handle them.

If California cared anything at all about competitive equity they would shut down the 5 or 6 All-Star factories there.

CA has an equitable Transfer policy where kids can play where they want and that's how it goes.... Why waste time and $$ telling kids where they can or can't play?.... It's just stupid....

The difference in CA is that only The Open Division Champion is Considered the True State Champion, the realist of them are all for the Schools and Communities so they have the Consolation Trophies.... Unlike watered down states like Louisiana that have 1/5th of the teams as CA yet somehow have 8 State Championships where sure CA has 14 but has 5x as many schools playing HSFB.... So you have to have something for the rest, this is the era we all live in.... 🤣🤷�♂️

The Louisiana High School football playoffs are about as fair as fair can be and super easy to comprehend.

We have only 5 classes of football in Louisiana. 5A-1A
Ok, during the regular season everybody can play everybody. Select and Public are even in the same districts.

Ok, when the playoffs start we separate into 8 divisions. I don't like it,  but that's the way it's been for a few years now. since the split. 
 
4 Select brackets > Private, Charter, Open Enrollment
4 Public > Public

And that's that

If Santa Fe Christian, CA was in Louisiana they would probably be a large 2A team. 
Santa Fe Christian would then play in the 2A Select Bracket that has 28 teams come playoff time because they are a Private school. ..... they would then be seeded.#1-#28 determined by Power Points.
You play a great schedule with some good wins you will get a very high seed which means a first round bye.

Santa Fe Christian would have the option to "play up" into any larger class they choose to .

Example: John Curtis is a 2A school, but they choose to play in 5A.
Lots of Louisiana schools "play up" a class or two...... . .

Every year they're more than 1200? high school football teams in California that will never ever sniff an Open State Championship game or even make the Bracket.

BUT, by God that's competitive equality.

Lousiana - 300 teams for 8 brackets equals 38 teams per bracket

The 24th seed in the select (Karr, Curtis, Catholic bracket) was Pineville. They were 4,539th nationally.
