Quote from: Steeler01 on Aug 17, 2026, 02:48 PMCompare these players and team to 2008-2010 STA. Until these players get to that level of success, it's all hyperbole bs.

You do it;
And then get back with us.

Fuck!.

I'm not the one making a claim that's ridiculous to push an agenda.

That's putting it mildly.
STA will win their 8th straight state championship this year. Yawn, that's a given.

A loss to Desoto would be absolutely devastating.

The only Championship that matters is the open one.

Quote from: Nolebull813 on Aug 17, 2026, 10:19 AMSTA gave up 38 to some beans and toast eating white guys last year. Florida football is a notch below the national powerhouses. The issue is teams in South FL have to spread the talent around with too many teams. Most areas of the country, there is only about 3-5 teams that fight for the same talent. In SFL there is about 20. So it's gets watered down to compete with the elite of the elite.

Desoto is loaded especially on defense. And they average a staggering 59 points per game in their 6 game postseason march.

I like Desoto easy in this.

Even though Florida teams have chopped down 31 state champions from 17 different states in the last 15 years, the last 2 years Florida has looked a lot like Louisiana. Losing all the OOS games and not keeping up.

I'm curious to see how Baton Rouge Catholic and John Curtis show up against Carrollton and North Shore
I believe Nolebull is trolling here.

Most impressive senior class in the nation.
The Florida All-Stars are loaded this year, believe that.

on3 is the better source for this now. More accurate and more easily accessible as they don't make you seach one class at a time. That said, the counting starred players approach is not as reliable as some wish.

They're the clear favorites. But, for the first ever time, ALL of the best teams have a shot to face/beat them because of the new Open division.

Curtis will get blown out by N. Shore. This shouldn't even be a discussion.

For once you're right, hillbilly.

John Curtis vs North Shore should not be in the DeSoto vs STA discussion.

But like all the other threads on this forum there is no rhyme or reason..... just a bunch of "whatever" stupid people saying stupid shit.

No one in Florida is touching STA this year.
STA should really pound DeSoto into the turf like Creekside, GA did last year.

DeSoto lost 3 games last year. They will probably lose 2 or 3 this year too.

STA can play sloppy and uninspired football at times though.

It's too early for anyone to speak with the certainty you do here. Historically, STA has had easier runs to the title, basically never having to face other South Florida heavyweights in the playoffs. Lakeland is the only blueblood they ever have to face, and Lakeland has proven to only be able to reach nationally elite status every few years. If they aren't in top form, like last year, then there's been nobody else in STA's way. Carol City, West Boca, AHP, Chaminade are all really good teams, and STA may well have to face several of those this year. Lakeland also is much better than they've been as well. So, not only will they likely face the sort of teams they've been able to dodge in the playoffs, they'll likely have to face them consecutively. If they have an off night vs. say, a Carol City team that figures to improve a good bit through the season, they very well may lose.
