If it was the year 2000 this DLS team would probably win the Myth National Championship, right?

Unfortunately for DLS and the USA Today it's 2025.  🤠🏈🤠

The gap between the best teams in the south and the best teams in the north is huge

This DLS team wishes it was the 2000 team.

Who cares?

If it was back in the day DLS would win their "12 or 13" games beating Pittsburg, California High, Monte Christa or whoever for proof positive....... and be crowned Myth National Champion by the USA Today. 🤠🏈🤠

Nobody had DLS in the top 25 in the country all season long.

Back in 2000 Karr would be a Top 2 team.  That would be a joke.

DLS was in most everyone's Top 25, if not everyone's.

MaxPreps had DLS #15 Nationally and the #4 team in California.

We all just witnessed how that worked out. 🤠🏈🤠

DLS 10 Lakeland, FL 6

STA 29 Lakeland 0
Santa Margarita 47 DLS 13

I guess it makes sense in the big picture.

DLS was ranked in 7/9. Interestingly, the only two to not have them ranked in the top 25 were the two (real) computer polls.

It's crazy really.
All year I had to hear Santa Margarita had NO offense!

"If they only had an offense"

They just put 47 on DLS.

DLS is considered one of the best defensive units up north. Meanwhile SM scored 3 pts against Mission Viejo, 7 pts vs MD , 0 pts vs BG ,14pts vs SJB and 17 pts vs Servite

DLS doesn't have the horses on either side of the ball to be an elite defense or offense.

Do you even look at TheCompPoll?....... or any of the other Comp Polls out there?

I suppose you don't because you are you!

I thought DLS was likely down this year. Of course I hoped not since my school battled, and probably should have beaten them. But, it looks like they indeed were down. Their schedule looked better on paper than it really was. Still, it was rather shocking to see just how badly outmanned they were. The suspense was largely dead very quickly, as the mismatch in talent was too obvious as to believe DLS was going to be in the game.

IMO, the days of Mater Dei and SJB being top 2-3 nationally are over for the forseeable future. Carson Palmer is going to continue getting major talent, and that will further break up the monopoly in talent the forrmet two have had. The Trinity League is the SEC of HS football. And, as we've seen with the SEC, having so many excellent teams in one conference leads to the teams beating up on each other and then no one stands all the way out as a clear #1 option for all players.

That was because of the way they started the season, but if you watched all their games their Flaws stood out which was lack of Depth on the DLine and Lack of Size in the secondary and inconsistent tackling....

DLS was actually much better last year on both Defense and Offense.... Especially along the lines and at RB....
