The fact of the matter is Geoff Nixon transferred to Evangel a week or two after Booty made his decision to leave early.
He was going to be Evangel's QB, but the LHSAA ruled him ineligible basically right before the season started. Evangel's other QB transferred to Calvary Baptist.

Next up was the WR Duron right before the 2003 season started. He eventually turned out to be a pretty decent QB

Not even top 20 in state anymore. Plus they didn't have a QB and their D1 receiver.

Hell, AHP would have won easy if they had anyone but their WR at quarterback because he would have been able to make plays that earned him D1 status. But he was stuck trying to throw a ball with 3 days notice. Playing QB at a high level when you have taken zero snaps is almost impossible. It's insanely hard for an actual QB to do it.

And AHP bullied them all game and let them get that long play at the end that allowed them to kick a FG to go to OT. They were 2nd and long way back. AHP lost the game on that play.

And this is one of the best Louisiana teams of all time.

The point is not that AHP had a WR at QB, thus handicapping 2 positions. It's the fact that Karr was tied at regulation with them and won barely at the end in OT.

That is not the actions of a national top 25 team. I get you aren't gonna beat every team by 40, but given the circumstances, (no QB, WR, homecooking, etc) Karr should have dominated.

At the very least, Karr should have beaten them closer to how they beat St Aug, Curtis and all the rest of the slappies they played this year.
