I was thinking about something this morning.
Calpreps went 8-2
Massey went 7-3
Redzone went 6-4

Not bragging on myself, but I'm pretty good at chess and probably play over 50 10 minute games a week vs the top rated computer engines.
The games never really last that long though. I can get to the End Game lots of times, but I still get crushed badly.

I have a much better chance of winning the lottery than I do beating a top rated chess engine. It ain't happening.
These modern chess engines absolutely do not blunder one move during the match.

My point? High school football computers are human!
Next week I'm literally flipping a coin on all 10 games and not looking at anything else.
Just curious to see how well I do..

Not Happening this year!.... MD may not score on SJB this year....

With a Loss to SJB MD may find themselves around a 6 seed in the playoffs!.... Could be a 1 st round game with Sierra Canyon and a 1 at round exit for MD.... That should pretty much do it for Lara at MD.... 🤣

I am recommending Ruston vs Neville for the Pickem this week

Both of them are top 10 in Louisiana. And they both got worked hard by a Mississippi and Texas team, respectively. They both were thoroughly beaten up and down the field about the same way. Combined to be outscored 64-19. And neither OOS team they got lumped up by is in their state top 15. So it's even.

So when these two top 10 teams clash, it's anyone's game

I already have 9 games and I'm trying to decide between these 2 FL games:

Edgewater (FL) @ Dr. Phillips (FL)
West Boca Raton (FL) @ Cardinal Newman (FL)

I'm leaning towards West Boca Raton @ Cardinal Newman, but curious as to your take.

Those are good ones. I'm not sure anyone would take Dr Phillips. West Boca lost a close one to National top 35 Bergen Catholic while CN lost to a top 5 PA team and pounded by Jesuit FL 31-0. So I'm not sure who would pick CN.

I would pass on both to be honest

I'm familiar with all of the teams' resumes. That's why the games were on my radar. I'm trying to give FL some representation but doesn't look like there's too many compelling games to choose from. The other game currently on my short list is a 2nd TX game and I'm trying to avoid doubling up on two games in the same state.

I would go with Ruston vs Neville and Baton Rouge Catholic vs Baton Rouge Central.

Baton Rouge Catholic did lose to MAIS Madison Ridgeland Academy 27-26 scoring 13 in the 4th after getting thrown around the entire game.

I get that. But they are angry and Central has the horses to fight back. Should be a good one!

I would consider this game if FreeBird were still around to pick "BRC".

They should be good games but I'm just thinking from a pick em standpoint. I run the pick ems on the Florida site and don't have either game this week. But the ones I do no one here would know the teams. Lol.

Ya, that's the tightrope of a National Pickem. You need somewhat competitive games but you also need teams, at least for the most part, that are also somewhat nationally relevant. When considering games I try to give precedence to the "traditional" power HSFB states but also try to throw in games of lesser-known teams in other states that might both be undefeated late in the season. I also try to avoid having the same teams over and over every week, though sometimes there just aren't a lot of good choices.
