I read this morning this is going to be an annual event In the Superdome and they plan on bringing 2 OOS National or Regional Powers annually......at least they hope to. It's really hard setting some of the stuff up, but that's the plan anyways. I like it!
There's no reason New Orleans shouldn't have an event like this.

This year:

My Rummel Raiders will play #1 3A power U-High from Baton Rouge.

Edna Karr will be playing American Heritage Plantation, FL.

U-High has some nice looking prospects including the #1 DL prospect in the nation.....5* Lamar Brown, who is committed to LSU. He's a bad dude.

Rummel is just Rummel this year.... not our best team, but definitely won't be our worst team. Competitive!

Fun fact about Rummel. They were top 10 in Louisana one year and lost 21-8 to the 91st ranked Florida team Escambia in New Orleans.

The following year instead of honoring the second year of a home and home they canceled on a them and drove over 700 miles to play some random North Carolina team that they almost lost to. Rumel ended up winning state that year.

The point is, I wouldn't hold my breath on this event having the ability to find Louisiana teams to play good out of state opponents. That is really sad and pathetic that an event in New Orleans would have an easier time securing out of state teams than the local ones because they are afraid of real competition.

" we want to create a doubleheader event where we showcase two Louisiana teams against two out-of-state teams. Everybody get on it."

" sir, we have checked far and wide, and have plenty of out-of-state teams to choose from. The only Louisiana team that has agreed to play an out-of-state opponent is the number one ranked team in the state. The rest of the teams are too afraid."

" OK just put two garbage Louisiana teams as the undercard and we will bring in four out of state teams for a real event going forward" 😂

I really hope this event doesn't involve that slimeball John Curtis who would hand pick his opponents at the Battle of the Border or threaten to not come. It was a shameful move and part of the reason the event doesn't exist anymore. They couldn't get enough Lousiana teams to agree to play decent OOS teams. No one wanted to see John Curtis vs Westlake GA or Bishop Lynch TX. SMH

The crazy thing about that game against Bishop Lynch is Curtis won 21-14. It was a 4 quarter war down to the wire. Curtis scored 21 points on some flukes in the 1st quarter alone and then was shut down and shut out the rest of the way.

It was 21-14 final. Curtis fans were sweating bullets that 5 LOSS Bishop Lynch would tie it in the 4th.

Curtis finished 13-0 and number 1 in Lousiana where Lynch loss 5 games and didn't finish top 40 in the state.

SMDH

John Curtis was by far the best Louisiana team in that event and chose Bishop Lynch when teams like Aledo TX, Bishop Dunne TX and North Little Rock AR were all ranked WAYYYYY higher than Lynch.

It's that punk mentality.

At least Evangel Christian stepped up. They got blasted by Bishop Dunne TX, North Little Rock AR and Duncanville TX to start that season but recovered to finish 8th in the state only to lose a tough one in the playoffs to top ranked Curtis

Yes. He did say he gets his dorky ass haircut at the same place as Jeff Curtis. Maybe it's a bunch of clowns who are short in the trousers bragging about beating no name teams. Lol.
