If MaxPreps is your Bible.
Evangel Christian will play Cornerstone Christian later this year in Shreveport.
If Lake Travis was a Louisiana team there would be 7 threads on this game.
Lake Travis battling back, but they can't stop Cornerstone Christian.
Cornerstone Christian adds another 7.
This is getting pretty serious.
35-21 Cornerstone Christian > starting the 4th.
Like Travis going to have to pull a St Charles Catholic, La to pull it out
Gut up!
Cornerstone Christian up 42-28........4th> getting late
42-35 Cornerstone Christian
5 minutes left.
Interesting.
#17 St Charles Catholic, La 34 #101 Houston Legacy, TX 28
#91 Cornerstone Christian 48 #17 Lake Travis 35
Houston Legacy will play Cornerstone Christian this year too. That's going to be a pretty good little game.
Houston Legacy and Cornerstone Christian have serious schedules this year.
Note: those MaxPreps numbers are really silly. I'll say it again!
Lake Travis was 14-1, #7 in Texas last year.

Cornerstone Christian is a Texas Independent after getting kicked out of TAPP a few years back for recruiting.
This is just a terrible loss really for Lake Travis. No two ways about it.
"Cornerstone Christian is a Texas Independent after getting kicked out of TAPP a few years back for recruiting."
That pretty much is the story.

Might also want to mention who they play on 10/16; entire reason we have an update thread for this game.

They play Evangel Christian and a couple weeks after that they play a crappy Arizona team..

Cornerstone Christian is flying out to D.C next week to play National Power St John's College.
Cornerstone Christian and Houston Legacy are the 2 best Independents in Texas.
If both keep playing these National Schedules they're going to attract a lot of athletes

Do you have a list of the independents in Texas? This isn't a gotcha question. I just want to see the list of all the teams before saying they are the best
Houston Legacy and Cornerstone Christian are Texas Freelance schools there are only 12 of these Freelance schools in Texas.
The only ones people need to be concerned about are Houston Legacy and Cornerstone Christian. They are the two attracting some talents and playing National schedules. Don't be surprised if you see them on your schedule next year.
"In Texas high school sports, "freelance" refers to independent teams, charter/private schools, or programs not assigned to a standard UIL (University Interscholastic League) or TAPPS district, meaning they schedule opponents independently or play outside traditional district championships"

...an Arizona team that's never been a part of the state's primary governing body. They've historically taken in kids looking to circumvent the AIA's transfer bylaws and have gotten fat beating up on charter schools with names like the Socratic Academy and MAGA Prep.
They are attached to one of the nation's top basketball prep programs, which means little to their football exploits. Their goal is to make the football program a national brand as well and are going to take it on the chin a bit doing so.
Houston Legacy has a tough 4-game stretch starting in a couple weeks
IMG Academy
St Frances MD
Baylor, TN
St John's College, DC
I think Houston Legacy probably understands they don't have a chance in these games, but they're simply trying to build a foundation for the future whatever it may hold.
Houston Legacy plays the #24 ;team in Texas tonight.....#1 4A Carthage. They say pound for pound Carthage is the best football program in Texas. They have been called the little Katy, but they aren't so little.

I'm all for it.
They're going to take some lumps too.
Nothing happens overnight.
Cornerstone Christian still has, #2 Massillon, Ohio, The Hun School, NJ..... St John's College DC, Evangel Christian, La and the Arizona School,
Not that Evangel Christian or the Arizona School should be mentioned in that group, but that's Cornerstone Christian's next 5 games.
And then Cornerstone Christian will play Houston Legacy in a big Texas Freelance showdown, if you will

Because Louisiana teams don't win OOS games that matter, but they win in all of your fantasy match ups.

Cool, skip
Definitely value-added information to the thread!
Cornerstone Christian had a massive OL.
Here's one of them. 😮🤠😮

Wonder what Texas will do when one of these independent schools becomes the best football team in their state. With a free education and a national schedule it just might happen. Do these independent schools get to play for state championship?
Evangel Christian is currently top 20 in Louisiana. Cornerstone is 91st and Texas. Obviously they will move up after the big win.
But I noticed red flag, trying to dismiss and downplay Evangel as a worthy opponent. Lol.
He knows they are going to get blown out so he needs to plant the seed now.
If evangel loses to cornerstone, it might be a blessing in disguise since they have won 6 state championships in Louisiana since 2004 and all 6 years they played 11 out of state teams and lost them all. But still won Louisiana.
Evangel Christian is 0-2 and currently NOT ranked in the LSWA 5A Top 10........ they did not receive any votes either.
If people want them Top 20 in Louisiana. Cool with me, I'm past that childish bullshit.

Won't be anytime soon.
But Cornerstone Christian clubbing Lake Travis was huge.
Lake Travis is a Texas blue blood.
And, no......... no state championship games like IMG Academy and St Frances.
The Cornerstone Christian OL
6-10 385 lbs
6-9 345 ibs
6-5 320 lbs
6-2 280 lbs
6-1-275 lbs

LT could have won the game. Made some execution errors and the pick-6 did us no favors. Carter (the QB) needs to tighten up the downfield throws.

You literally have maxpreps rankings in the headline of the thread. But since you don't agree with the Louisiana teams ranking it's "childish bullshit"

Did bump

Get it now, Blade?
Who's lake travis?
Quote from: Redzone on Sep 18, 2026, 01:04 PMWhy do you post here, podro?
Because I can. Still doesn't answer my question. I now live here in texas and have never heard that name. Just trying to get info on why another school I've never heard of on a national board is beating a Texas team I've never heard of. Nothing more, nothing less.

You know how I know Carthage beat the tar out of legacy? Because you didn't mention the game one time so far.
