DeSoto is now a Texas 5A as they drop a class this year.
Does good DeSoto show up or bad DeSoto show up? DeSoto has proven they can be very good or very bad.
DeSoto did beat a decent (7-4) St Aug (NOLA) a couple years ago (2022) in Oregon 35-10. They weren't really all that impressive in that win. DeSoto did win a state championship in Texas that year though.
St Aug was up 10-7 middle 3rd quarter and just cramped up in the 4th quarter and caved in.
STA has a lot of hype this year.
They should really beat DeSoto by 3 or 4 TDs, but they probably won't.....is my best guess.
What's your best guess?

Desoto dropped? Wow. Times have changed.
I like STA in this one.
STA gave up 38 to some beans and toast eating white guys last year. Florida football is a notch below the national powerhouses. The issue is teams in South FL have to spread the talent around with too many teams. Most areas of the country, there is only about 3-5 teams that fight for the same talent. In SFL there is about 20. So it's gets watered down to compete with the elite of the elite.
Desoto is loaded especially on defense. And they average a staggering 59 points per game in their 6 game postseason march.
I like Desoto easy in this.
Even though Florida teams have chopped down 31 state champions from 17 different states in the last 15 years, the last 2 years Florida has looked a lot like Louisiana. Losing all the OOS games and not keeping up.
I'm curious to see how Baton Rouge Catholic and John Curtis show up against Carrollton and North Shore

Most impressive senior class in the nation.
The Florida All-Stars are loaded this year, believe that.

I only post facts.
That's why I'm highly respected on the High School football circuit. People can believe what I post.
Of course STA did pick up a transfer QB this year to top it all off. They needed him too.
Anyways, the hype is real.
"The 2027 senior class at Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas High School is widely regarded as one of the most loaded, loyal, and historically decorated groups in the football program's legendary history. Unlike most modern South Florida powerhouses that rely heavily on late-season transfers, this star-studded class famously arrived together as freshmen and stayed to build a potential national championship roster."

Aren't you the one that gets mad when I posted the fact that the panhandle of Florida is 62-31 in the last 70 years against the entire state of Louisiana including chopping down a slew of top 10 teams?
Those are facts. For someone who supposedly posts facts I thought you of all people would appreciate the authenticity.
And spoiler alert. NO ONE respects you on ANY board. I would love for you to post a link to someone responding to a post of yours with some type of enlightenment. Lol.
You think the Panhandle of Florida lighting up Louisiana is bad? I think it's just as bad for Mississippi as well.
I got the results. You know facts that can't be disputed.

DeSoto decided to stop passing the ball and just ran all over Augustine when that happened.
Augustine scored on a turnover to start the game and was held to below 150 yards of offense. It was a pathetic showing by them.

STA will win their 8th straight state championship this year. Yawn, that's a given.

on3 is the better source for this now. More accurate and more easily accessible as they don't make you seach one class at a time. That said, the counting starred players approach is not as reliable as some wish.

They're the clear favorites. But, for the first ever time, ALL of the best teams have a shot to face/beat them because of the new Open division.

But like all the other threads on this forum there is no rhyme or reason..... just a bunch of "whatever" stupid people saying stupid shit.

No one in Florida is touching STA this year.
STA should really pound DeSoto into the turf like Creekside, GA did last year.
DeSoto lost 3 games last year. They will probably lose 2 or 3 this year too.
STA can play sloppy and uninspired football at times though.

It's too early for anyone to speak with the certainty you do here. Historically, STA has had easier runs to the title, basically never having to face other South Florida heavyweights in the playoffs. Lakeland is the only blueblood they ever have to face, and Lakeland has proven to only be able to reach nationally elite status every few years. If they aren't in top form, like last year, then there's been nobody else in STA's way. Carol City, West Boca, AHP, Chaminade are all really good teams, and STA may well have to face several of those this year. Lakeland also is much better than they've been as well. So, not only will they likely face the sort of teams they've been able to dodge in the playoffs, they'll likely have to face them consecutively. If they have an off night vs. say, a Carol City team that figures to improve a good bit through the season, they very well may lose.

Aledo got bumped up??? Wow. Times mos def have changed. Any good teams around the Cedar Park Austin area? I want to plan out my Fridays and get tickets in advance if need be. But I also am not down to watch ok teams. I do come from NorCal and I must watch teams at least close to as good as ours? How far is Duncanville and North Shore? I'm already planning a Lake Travis game.
