This hudl link (https://www.hudl.com/profile/17564923/Edrick-Bush) is for a recent Miramar High football player, Edrick Bush. Bush scored three touchdowns and recorded over 100 yards receiving in Miramar's tight, dramatic loss to Delray Atlantic in 2024. Delray Atlantic in 2024, despite being a bit of a "no-name" was- by far- the team who's come closest to ending St. Thomas Aquinas's amazing string of consecutive state championships in ANY of those seasons. Atlantic led STA in a state playoff game in 2024 by 20 points after a quarter, led by 21 shortly before halftime, led 35-21 in the 4th quarter. STA scored a TD with less than a minute left in the playoff game to tie it, and ultimately won in double OT to advance in the playoffs. So, Atlantic was really good in 2024. And Edrick Bush had three TDs and over 100 yards receiving for Miramar, who nearly beat Atlantic.
What was Edrick Bush involved in when he wasn't scoring TDs on the gridiron? He was one of two occupants in the vehicle being tracked at going over 130 MPH in this video (https://youtu.be/jJt9ZKW2FYs?si=bxsRT99aKSlVc-i8). Skip to the 9:00 point for the juicy part. Read more about his "extracurricular activities" in this article. (https://www.clickorlando.com/news/local/2026/04/17/5-charged-in-2m-luxury-car-theft-ring-orange-county-sheriffs-office-says/)
Most or every top HS team in the country has had at least one or two embarrasments like this (my school Lakeland is not immune by any means). They are the exceptions, but they are not unheard of. I have to assume any Miramar fans who cheered the Bush kid on have to be holding their head in their hands when they see stuff like this.
Given the ages of the others involved in the theft ring, they may also have played HS football. I just didn't bother to look them up.
