Is an interesting and underrated game on the loaded Catholic schedule this year. They have never met at least not in the MaxPreps era (2004)
Catholic will play Dunham Week 2 after the Carrollton, GA game
Dunham won the D3 State Championship last year and are led by the #1 QB in the nation > 5* Elijah Haven, he's committed to Alabama.
6-5 212 Ibs
https://247sports.com/player/elijah-haven-46144331/
Dunham has some really nice athletes, but I just don't know if they have enough depth to hang with Catholic. Anything is possible though with an elite QB and several athletes.
Have to respect Dunham for stepping up and accepting the challenge.
Note: the QB for Carrollton, GA Is racking up some offers.
Catholic is going to see 2 very good QBs back to back.
I don't know if Dunham is National or not, but they were 13-1 last year > #12 Louisiana and #400 nationally using MaxPreps.
There's almost 16,000 teams playing High School football so I guess #400 is pretty solid
https://www.maxpreps.com/la/baton-rouge/dunham-tigers/football/
The Dunham School is a small Christian school. Very beautiful campus. Tuition is $26,000 per year, not cheap.
John Curtis for example is $9,000 per year.

10 dudes on last year's roster weighing 150-pounds or less.

Not really sure how to react to this.
Last year Bixby had 26 players below 170 lbs and had a bunch of 150 lbs dudes too
That said. The Dunham School is not going to WOW anyone with their brute size that's for sure. I would imagine what big dudes they do have will play both ways.
Not a lot of transfer action going on in Louisiana, but The Dunham School probably scored the biggest one so far this offseason. 👇

The Dunham School must feel pretty good about things though.
Week 1 The Dunham School will travel to Shreveport to play a good 5A Parkway program, followed up by playing 5A/D1 Catholic. They also got a game scheduled with one of Mississippi's better private programs that won a championship last year.
The Dunham School just isn't very big.

You said they won a championship. I just checked the Mississippi high school athletic Association website and didn't see their name mentioned.

I'm reiterating a point that I've made in the past; that your typical Louisiana varsity roster is what would pass as a JV roster with a D1 guy or two mixed in. Dunham is hardly unique in this matter - the Calvary Baptist team they beat to claim their championship had a 5-4, 190-pound running back as their leading rusher and a 145-pound linebacker ranked third on the team in tackles. The Lafayette Christian team Dunham beat in the semis had 140-pound and 120-pound corners starting (based on their production) and a 5-7, 240-pound d-tackle. On some level that's incredibly healthy for a future participation perspective (younger guys can see with their own eyes that there's a role for them in football) but is rather irrelevant from a national contention perspective.
If this proves to be an "interesting" game that's bad news for Louisiana football and the national conversation.

Translation. Got beat so bad with facts that he can't even lie his way out.
Catholic should win by 30. Dunham isn't any good just because they won state in Louisiana. They have like 8-9 brackets for 300 teams. There are 5,000 Dunhams around the country

It's difficult to overstate how absurd it is that Louisiana has 311 teams playing 11 man ball. Kentucky has roughly the same population and has 228 schools playing 11 man ball. Oregon has 400,000 less people than Louisiana and somehow has less than 150 11 man teams.
The upside to all that for Louisiana is it makes it almost impossible for their guys with D1 talent to go unnoticed. The downside is it all but automatically disqualifies their best teams from the national conversation. They're a mile wide and an inch deep.

I'm explaining why Louisiana is fantastic at producing collegiate-level talent while being dog shit at producing national-caliber high school football teams. Based on the fact that you've offered nothing that points to the contrary I assume you agree with my point.

And I think that is evident in their results in OOS games. Because Louisiana historically has been embarrassed and boatraced for decades. Literally.
I know this clown will try and deflect and change the subject about Florida crapping out last year against a slew of nationally ranked opponents but that was a one off. Maybe two. Louisiana has crapped the bed almost every single year for over a quarter century. Maybe more.
Louisiana is a poor man's Florida. Great individual talent. Lack of resources, coaching and development. And like you said, watered down teams with a D1 guys sprinkled here or there.
One of the reasons the panhandle of Florida is 61-31 the last 70 years against the entire state of Louisana. That's not some trolling brag. It's irrefutable facts that can't be denied. There's a lot of mediocrity for a long time. It's systemic

Actually it sounds more like you are butt hurt that I was right about Bixby and you looked like a complete moron in that thread OR your butt hurt that Arizona is an absolutely crap state in football. Arizona doesn't produce many D1 college football players, they don't produce many NFL players, and they only have 4 or 5 high school teams that maybe anyone's ever heard of...... and those teams have to recruit and raid rosters just to be noticed. I read an article last year on how cutthroat Arizona high school football is.
It's definitely one of the two.
Either way, just stop throwing absolutely absurd and bizarre paragraphs out there.
The NFL draft is coming up and Arizona will once again be totally irrelevant as will Kentucky and Oregon.
NO state with 4.5 million people can match Louisiana in producing D1 talent, NFL talent, and number of quality high school football teams.Just a fact!.
If that upsets you take it up with your congressman!
.Top States Producing 2025 NFL Players (Kickoff Weekend Rosters)
Texas: 199 players
Florida: 179 players
California: 165 players
Georgia: 143 players
North Carolina: 70 players
Louisiana: 59 players
Ohio: 57 players
Illinois: 55 players
Michigan: 55 players
Alabama: 52
woode > it's perfectly fine to spend all your time on the internet talking about Basha, Chandler, Hamilton, and a couple others, but stay in your lane, dude!
It's funny, Derek Stingley Jr from The Dunham School (Baton Rouge) was the 3rd Pick in the NFL draft in 2022. He may be the best CB in the NFL today. Look it up!
https://247sports.com/player/derek-stingley-jr-89107/high-school-170939/
The 5* Dunham School QB this year will probably be a Top 5 NFL pick in a few years. I wouldn't bet against it.
He will shine at Alabama.
Quote from: Redzone on Mar 28, 2026, 07:58 PMActually it sounds more like you are butt hurt that I was right about Bixby...
What, exactly, were you right about? The only points I ever made about Bixby were 1) they are a national power based solely on the fact that they are the undisputed best team in Oklahoma; and 2) they owe none of us a single thing as it relates to scheduling. As long as they continue to win state championships nobody close to that program cares about who they schedule.

I've acknowledged multiple times that Louisiana is great at producing individual talent. As for the quality of high school football teams, if they truly did have "a number of quality high school football teams" (exactly how many is "a number"?) they 1) wouldn't have absorbed the number of out-of-state ass-beatings they have through the years; and 2) you wouldn't feel the need to repeatedly hype up every squad you've determined to be notable from the state as the on-field results would speak for themselves.

You're bad at this.
Summary, anyone?
Arizona is a shit football state!
And we all know it!
It's comical, almost borderline insanity watching the same 5 or 6 dudes every year talk about the same 5 or 6 recruited up All-Star High School football teams from their states like it represents their state's ability to play High School football.
I got dirt on all these teams!
The Louisiana High School football product is about as pure as the sugarcane we grow and we grow a shitload of it! 🤠🏈🤠
And there is no dispute about that.
If you go back a few pages, you can find threads Red Flag has posted about St Augustine beating Legacy TX (giving up 40 in the process), and State Champ St Charles Catholic barely winning in miracle fashion 35-31 at the end.
St Aug was top 5 in Louisiana and St Charles was 7th.
Legacy was 109th in Texas alone.
It's easy conclude that Legacy would be top 10 in Louisiana. That's not indicative of strength. That's embarrassing how mediocre the teams in Louisiana are.
In a big basketball tournament out West this past year Ruston, La beat #1 Tualatin, OR who won the big school Oregon State Championship (they are a power in OR) and Ruston, La beat St Mary's (Phoenix, AZ) who was the Arizona big school runner-up and #23 nationally at MaxPreps.
Ruston won the tournament! Not bad for a football school
Maybe that's why Woody the Woodpecker keeps pecking on Louisiana? 🤠🏈🤠

You are such a dumb gay fuck.
St Aug put 70 points on Legacy. Could have been 100 had they kept throwing the ball instead of just trying to run the clock out.
Legacy put 48 points on what was supposed to be the best 5A team in Texas > Port Arthur Memorial. Legacy lost the game in the final minutes 53-48. Legacy had the #1 QB in the nation and he accounted for 7 TDs in this game
Port Arthur Memorial lost in the 5AD1 semi-finals to eventual state champion Smithson Valley 31-28.
Smithson Valley baby sealed their opponent in the 5Ad1 Champ game

St Aug was up 60-22 on Legacy, TX and played the majority of their backups the second half. 🤠🏈🤠
Legacy was really an ok team. Lots of talent including the #1 QB in the nation.
Legacy has quite the schedule this year.
Anyways, Legacy and St Aug have absolutely nothing to do with the thread......... but the internet, It's broken!
