The new $20 million dollar stadium will break ground later this year.
Will be pretty nice and have a capacity of 5,000.
Carver High is located in the 9th Ward of NOLA ....it was totally decimated during Hurricane Katrina taking 12 ft of water.
The 9th Ward is also home to some of the scariest gangs in the nation. You don't want to fuck around down there too much. In fact, if you don't have any business in the 9th Ward it's best to stay out of there.
Anyways, they're hoping this new stadium and some other projects will bring a sense of community to what really is a depressed area of NOLA.
As far as the actual football team this past season they went 7-4 and ranked 158th in Louisiana per MaxPreps.
Back in the day Carver was pretty decent, actually beat John Curtis a couple times. Hall of Famer Marshall Faulk prepped there.

9th Ward Stadium
No one cares, redneck!
Carver dropped their schedule and looks like it includes a game with one of Florida's Top 2A Privates Pensacola Catholic who was 11-2 last year.
Good for Carver accepting the challenge. Now if we could just get Bixby to accept a challenge things would be good, any challenge.
I think Carver actually has a puncher's shot. Carver is very athletic, but not very disciplined and the way Florida performed last year who knows?

Last year Pensacola Catholic beat 1-9 Delhi, La who was ranked #286 in Louisiana and it was actually one of Florida's better OOS wins last year. I kid not. Florida did not have very many. They were that terrible!

Carver will be much better!

This is the saddest thread you posted and that's saying something. You know because you already read it in my thread that Delhi had some Lousiana team drop football on their schedule and the coach wanted to find a 10th game and Catholic was only playing 9 games when the game was scheduled.
I think Spruce Creek who finished 42nd in Florida beating Ohio State champ and National number 55 state number 2 Avon as the best OOS win
Carver is 0-1 vs Florida all time taking a 34-6 pounding by Pensacola High in 1999. That was back when Carver was taking names in New Orleans.
It's every possible that the players on Carver's team now have fathers who played on that 99 team, so they can give them some insight on what's to come when you play some Pensacola team.
Anyways, kudos for 2A Catholic for stepping up 2 classifications to lock horns with the 4A Carver Rams
Pensacola Catholic is 2-0 all time against Louisiana.
Last year when they accepted to host Delhi for Delhi to come hang out at the beach and get a bowl game experience and Catholic can rest their starters before the playoffs.
And in 1963, Catholic beat Ridgewood Prep from Metarie,LA. I read the article leading up to the game. It said Catholic had 1 win on the season and Ridgewood Prep had 4 wins already and Ridgewood outweighed Catholic on the line by 25 pounds per man which was a lot back in the 60's.
Catholic pounded them 25-0 regardless
It's really been amazing watching the decline of Florida High School football the last several years.
Scheduling teams like Delhi and Carver pretty much sums Florida up now......they need wins!
Things are what they are though.

Florida did add their 17th different state's State Champion this year in the last 15 years adding Ohio.
Think about that. 17 in 15 years. That's some grade A skins on the wall.
Meanwhile we have to see Louisana threads about their top 5 teams playing nobodies like Cathedral and Legacy.
Maybe we can watch the replay of the Curtis/Cathedral game from the live stream thread you posted. LMAO!
I think Florida lost close to 200 OOS games last year.
Maybe more

61-31 has gotta burn your ass. In the last 70 years, the panhandle has won 61 times out of 92 against the entire state of Louisiana and that's with all the 0-10 and 2-8 FL teams you played.
Gotta burn.
Florida had a bad year against mostly national powerhouses. Louisiana lost to TX 4A cow poke schools and MAIS Mississippi teams. Lol.
Florida had a bad year. Louisiana has had a bad existence. Top teams losing every year for decades
This coming year will be no different. Still haven't got any predictions on the top OOS games for La this year
Curtis vs North Shore
Catholic vs Carrollton
Catholic vs Madison Ridgeland
West Monroe vs Brandon
Newman vs Santa Fe Christian
Alexandria vs Bryant
Carver vs Catholic
Byrd vs Pleasant Grove
How many of the 8 top OOS games does Louisana win?
The sad part is Florida led the nation last year in football transfers with 5,921 and still lost almost 250 OOS games.
You just can't make that kind of stuff up.
Oh well, is what it is.

9th Ward Stadium
As I was reading this I kept thinking there was someone famous who came out of there. At first I was thinking a rapper, but then I saw Marshall Faulk and remembered that's who it was. Crazy dangerous down there.
