Is there some allergy to putting a public #1? Considering how the year played out seems as though if a public isn't deemed worthy this year there's never going to be another public champ.

On the topic of publics, how many times can Corner Canyon get bent over a barrel and stay in the top 25? I refuse to believe that's a thing had they never beaten IMG last season.

He doesn't think Buford could beat Gorman. Neither do I. I also think RSM would beat Buford right now as well.

As far as Corner Canyon is concerned does them butt drilling Liberty mean anything at all to you?  Losing to SFA by 17 is not getting bent over a barrel.

Having DeSoto, TX over Creekside, GA is just crazy man wrong.

Some teams and states get a pass for embarrassing losses.

Creekside beat DeSoto 70-28.

Just wrong!

I don't think Georgia football lives up to their lofty reputation but if you think enough of that product to rank five of those squads in your final top 25 it's not logical to hold the best team from that bunch to an impossible, inconsistent standard (Buford can run the table in a "tough" state and it means less than Gorman conquering their local slap-dicks and going 1-1 in their two meaningful OOS games). At some point the results of ALL the games has to reign supreme over the games we can only speculate on.

Butt-drilling this Liberty team means very little to me; they were a squad that was very limited offensively that had a lot of that masked because they didn't play any of the Chandler schools until the playoffs. The fact that they were still a top three squad in the state was a big reason I said two weeks ago that I wasn't sure that Arizona had a top 25 squad this year.

Not for nothing SFA led Corner Canyon 28-0 before giving up a score, led 28-7 entering the fourth and promptly got a safety and a kick return for a score to get the 37-7 lead. When you score two touchdowns in the fourth and still lose by 17 you got put over a barrel.

Definitely no Justification for that, Having Desoto who lost 3 times including 70-28 to Creekside who is 15-0 is absolutely Rediculous.... I mean, 15-0 Creekside hung 70 on 3 loss Desoto, how is there any Justification for that?....

A prime example of why you can't take any of these polls seriously.... @whiteshoes12 did a great job with the Top 10 but Desoto at 13 and Creekside at 25 is a Huge Miss and black eye for this poll.... 🤣

Desoto at the end of the year was not the same team that played Creekside earlier this year.    Take a quick glance at their tournament run to confirm that.  They seem to have figured it out after the Duncanville loss. Is there anyone who thinks a Creekside-DeSoto rematch in December would have ended the same way?   If you do, then we are going to agree to disagree.  I watched both teams' final games, there is just no way. Gorman posted the most impressive win over Santa Margarita, which rolled all the Cal teams during the playoffs.   The polling was difficult this season due to the fact that there was not a "super" team and in my opinion, the top states (California, Florida and Texas) were down this season.   At the end of the season, a three-loss team wins major titles in both Cal and Texas. Georgia might have had the best depth with several outstanding teams.   I still find it amazing how one team can defeat another in the regular season and yet get beat or even rolled by the same team later in the year.  It happens consistently at playoff time.

That's a lot of words to say you only value the on-field results that confirm your already-held assumptions. You even spell-out the case for Creekside over DeSoto WITHOUT an on-field result (Texas was "down this year,  Georgia was "deep") then still make a call that flies in the face of it.

DeSoto's schedule was front loaded with quality teams and happened to get a favorable draw against a Southlake team who's reputation was pumped up thanks to a soft schedule and cool haircuts. DeSoto's playoff wins outside of SLC were to the 344th, 474th, 41st, 66th, and 22nd ranked teams in the state of Texas; there's no tangible evidence from the second half of DeSoto's season that says they'd beat the teams that took them out earlier in the year.

I can appreciate the poll but IMO DLS is way too high.  Maybe switch them with Central East at 88

HA!!.... I am sorry.... 70-28.... 15-0 vs a 13-3 team that lost to said 15-0 team 70-28.... Your logic is Rediculous and non existent.... 🤣

I've always valued your opinion. You make solid points about Corner Canyon, but I still put good stock in beating Liberty like they did. Liberty was the only team to give Basha a tough game during their title run and I think Basha earned a top 20-30ish ranking. That would put Corner Canyon on par (or better) than them.

Buford surviving that GA gauntlet unscathed will vault them up my poll. Just not above BG or RSM. BG HAS to play 5 slappies from Nevada, but almost always schedule top tier opponents outside of that. The only team from Nevada that has had even the slightest pulse is Henderson Liberty (Arbor View this year). So, there isn't much to work with for the Gaels. I wish they would just go independent.....
