Deserves their own thread. A play-in game if you will
Friday night ABC 7:00 p.m.
ACC Championship Game at Tulane Stadium.
Winner goes to the College Football Playoffs.
Very similar situations at each school.
North Texas is losing their head coach Eric Morris to Oklahoma State.
Tulane is losing their head coach Jon Sumrall to Florida.
Neither of these teams is going to win a College Football National Championship, but it's still a big deal to both schools/programs and means a lot to Denton, TX and NOLA.
4
That's a nice bump up for Jon Sumrall.
Tulane was paying him $3 million annually..

Tulane has become the school where you go to make a name for yourself, I guess....... they lost Willie Fritz couple years ago now Sumrall.
That's pretty remarkable.
The AAC football conference is obviously where you go when you need an up and coming head football coach.
"As of late November 2025, four American Athletic Conference (AAC) head coaches accepted "big time" Power Four jobs: Jon Sumrall (Tulane to Florida), Ryan Silverfield (Memphis to Arkansas), Alex Golesh (South Florida to Auburn), and Eric Morris (North Texas to Oklahoma State)."
Is Memphis to Arkansas really a promotion?
Well, since my Rummel Raiders got put out of the playoffs last week It's all about Tulane tonight.
It's going to be a tough game for Tulane.
North Texas averages 47 points per game and has one of the best offenses in the nation.
Can the Centennial, CA QB lead Tulane to the College Football Playoffs? His legs may be the difference.
#letsgogreenwave
Tulane! How about that? Good for them
Virginia plays Duke tonight in the ACC Champ game
Tulane might get blasted in the playoffs, but they beat Duke this year 🤠🏈🤠

It really is
He'll be making almost $5 million more dollars per year.
Arkansas is a Top Tier job.
It's really no comparison!

Arkansas has the money, resources, facilities, fan base, tradition and history....... and they are in the SEC!

Arkansas gets almost $53 million a year just for being in the SEC.....
That's not chump change!

Arkansas is a 3rd tier program.
History, when integration wasn't a thing. Princeton is rich in history as well. They're a power as well huh?
When's the last time Arkansas finished in the top 4 in football?
They've had 1 top 5 finish in the last 40 years.

That's exactly why Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC!!

The picture just ain't coming in very clear for you. You may need to adjust your antenna. 🤠🏈🤠
Arkansas still ranks #21 in all-time AP poll appearances even with the lean years.
https://allhogs.com/2025/10/18/how-arkansas-is-still-a-top-25-program-all-time-in-ap-poll-rankings/
This kind of stuff doesn't matter though and is irrelevant.
.
If this coach goes to Arkansas and kicks ass he's in a place that can give him a $2 million dollar bump or whatever raise.

1 top 4 finish in 40 years and I'm the one that doesn't get it.
0 SEC Championships in their history

Arkansas total revenue 72-84 million
Minnesota 90.7 million revenue in 2024
Minnesota is a power program according to you.
But but but they're in the SEC
At this point No One on the forum knows what Steeler01 is even talking about.

The Arkansas job is much better than the Memphis job, dude.
If you can't and won't understand that I can't do anything with you.
UCLA hired the James Madison coach.
UCLA Is a much better job than James Madison.
Accept these little facts. they require no thinking whatsoever.
Duke beat Virginia 27-20 in OT last night in the ACC Championship game.
That ACC is a mess.
Hell, Tulane beat Duke this year.
The ACC may not get a team in the playoffs this year.
Going to be interesting watching them sort all this out.
Some people aren't going to be very happy!

You claimed Arkansas is a top tier job. That's a lot different than saying it's a better job than coaching at Memphis. A top tier job is Ohio state, Georgia, Florida etc. Arkansas isn't anywhere near the level of those programs in being able to attract talent and win.

You really are struggling with this and it just ain't that damn complicated.
Arkansas and Florida just hired new football coaches with basically the same salary package/structure......$6 Million-$7 million range annually.
LSU hired a football coach and will pay him $13 million a year........ That's elite!
Like I said if these new guys at Arkansas and Florida do well in a couple years they will probably be making as much as the Notre Dame coach....or close to it.
Stop being dumb on purpose!

Yes or no

If you're asking if the new Arkansas head coach's contract is better than Ohio State's Ryan Day the simple and obvious answer is no.
The Arkansas head coaching job is on par with Michigan.
Michigan is currently paying Sherrone Moore $6.11 million annually for 5 years plus bonuses of course.
Arkansas is paying new head coach Ryan Silverfield $6.7 million annually for 5 years plus bonuses of course.
Which is about right. Neither one of them has done s*** yet, but they might.
Is this stuff really that hard for you?..... pay structures, ability to earn, resources, facilities, and etc?

You have pivoted from Arkansas being a top tier job to talking about the salary matching Michigan's coach.
6.7 million a year isn't even a top 30 coaching salary in 2025.
6.7 million would put the Arkansas coach at 36th in 2025.
Minnesota pays their coach 7 million. Minnesota>> Arkansas in revenue and what they pay their head coach.
Tulane gets the #11 Seed and has to play Ole Miss......... that didn't work out very good the first time they played this year, but Tulane did move to ball very well in that game. Ole Miss blew it open in the 4th quarter.
Old Miss is going to have a nasty chip on their shoulder too.
Anyways, is what it is.
