Title: GEICO bowls
Post by: 181pl on Nov 25, 2025, 08:11 AM
Believe they are back again this year. What matchups do you folks want to see?

If Centennial wins out as a public school in California through the open bowl process, it would be cool if they allowed to participate but that's probably not going to happen. That said I think it would be awesome to see Georgia's best (Grayson or Buford ?) take on St. Francis in one of the games.

The other game I would like to see Florida's best take on the best from Texas, but not sure that can work with the Tx. playoff schedule. If Texas cannot participate then BG.

It's not Geico this year, but Overtime. The game has already been announced as SFA vs. Corner Canyon: https://x.com/overtime/status/1991934589389144361

They claim "No high school football team has ever competed for a natty before" which is funny because 56 teams competed in "National Championship Games" between 1902 and 1939. Also, Geico tried to name STA "National Champs" in 2019 after winning the Geico State Championship Bowl Series game, but literally no one recognizes that as a valid MNC selection. This will be true also with this game, as no one is going to recognize the validity of this "MNC" either.

Good to know. Kind of a disappointing game, but at least it's something.

HA!!.... So let me get this Straight.... The "Game of The Decade" is between a 12-1 Utah Team that lost by 3 TD's to another 5 loss Utah team and a 8-1 SFA team that Lost to 2 loss SJB who lost to OLU.... And this be deciding The National Championship.... Someone is wasting a lot of $$ to put this on.... 🤣

No thanks, I have better things to do then watch this, although it would be hilarious if SFA lost.... 🤣

These games no longer happen because they don't make any money and no one watches them on TV.... Plus the best states for HSFB, CA and TX where people would possibly watch, don't participate....

The Corner Canyon vs St Frances High School National Championship game will be played at the Under Armour Stadium in Baltimore.

Capacity > 1400
That's just sad and embarrassing!

Maybe they add some temporary seating, but I don't know and don't really care.

The will be Lucky to get 500 people at that game.... Literally No One Cares about watching a HSFB game in December unless they know someone playing in it....

A lot of states don't even allow their teams to compete in these games, so what legitimacy can they really have?

Seating for 1400???? LOL!!!!!!!!!! Now I can't wait to see if they try to make it look like thousands showed up with different camera angles. They can say its sold out because everyone wanted to there when the first ever High School Football national championship game happened.  They can tell their grandkids that they where there. lol

When AZ Centennial hosted the 2018 Geico Bowl against Eastside Catholic ESPNU had the entire visitors' stands empty for camera angle purposes. IDK if it was a cope after we crapped the bed that night but some of the Centennial kids claimed to be psyched-out by the deviation from their normal home game experience.

I remember that game.  One the first ones they did IIRC.  They love to do that. I am guessing that's why they chose that site to host the game. lol
