The funniest part about this is that even their excuse is inaccurate, they are not the "consensus top two teams in the country".
Why didn't they just play them when it was scheduled?

If I'm running a poll I'm considering this a double-forfeit and preceding accordingly.

The crazy thing is that IMG doesn't even have a "real" MNC yet (in my opinion 2020 shouldn't count even though they claim it) and this year seems like it would be their best opportunity to get one. Without that SFA game, no real signature win and not having playoffs, it's hard to see anyone giving them serious consideration for a #1 spot.
They'll be dropping in my poll. It's looking like the Southern Section champ will win it all.......again.

HA!.... Just another example of IMG having Nothing to play for, what a joke... Should have just played the game, I believe there is more to this....
Maybe there was no real interest from TV or whatever and there certainly would be no Big Gate because no one goes to their games.... They could just play the game tomorrow or Next week.... Just another reason why there is no reason to attention to IMG and why CA teams don't need IMG for anything.... 🤣
We all know who was the one who tried to make this game happen in the middle of Dec. LOL. He really is just an idiot. Consensus #1 and #2? HA!!!!! I may just have to reactivate my twitter account just to ask the question, how are they #1 and #2. SFA nust be PISSED!!!!

Uhmm....Eww
Serious question.
Would it be out of the question for SFA, and IMG Academy to hook up with national teams [Public or Private] who are willing to play after they get knocked out of their states' playoffs.
Example: Let's say, East St. Louis, Duncanville, Miami Central, Centennial CA, Corner Canyon, Bergen Catholic, etc...... all happen to lose 1st round but this "National Championship tournament" starts at the end of November into December.
It gives the teams, who are already out of their playoffs a shot at playing a national schedule in this "National HSFB Championship"
Or is that just too chaotic?

Depends on the state. CA teams are prohibited from playing games after the section/state playoffs.

That makes sense.
I always thought that would be a neat concept, but I wouldn't be surprised if most associations barred their teams from that.

Even if it could happen, no one would take it seriously because all the teams have been eliminated from their playoffs so how could it be called a "National Championship Tournament".... More like a "Consolation Tournament"..... 🤣

No kidding!.... The thing is, not enough people care about IMG vs SFA to make this a National TV gane, Plus SFA isn't even Undefeated so not matter what it's not a "National Championship" game.....
Who is even going to watch?..... These teams have no fans and no following.... Florida doesn't like IMG and Maryland doesn't like SFA.... It's not like you have teams from HSFB crazy states like TX or GA.... Or you have a team like MD with a huge alumni base that are football crazy....
I would be surprised is this happens now. IMG v SFA would have had some degree of interest for general fans. Corner Canyon v SFA excites nobody.
Playing it in mid Dec after everybody finishes their season is not a good idea either. The organizers of this event look silly now because the game could have been played this weekend.

What event are you referring to?.... Corner Canyon is playing SFA now?....
I really don't think there is any interest at all in IMG vs SFA, who is the Audience who is watching other than us hard core HSFB fans?.... Neither team has any kind of alumni and following and no interest in their states.... Honestly, I don't think I would even watch, in December on a Saturday, I am watching College FB, if no Football then I am out doing something fun.... Not sitting around watching a HSFB game where I have no Connection to or interest in either team....
There is a reason no one Broadcasts HSFB games on TV anymore other than a few early season games on ESPN.... No one watches....

This sounds like the CIF-NCS philosophy. Lose in the playoffs, nah that's ok you can keep playing and still get a trophy. Hard pass, you lose a "playoff" game your season should be over, it's time to get the high tops out and get to the hardwood.

Are they playing them now? Does Corner Canyon get to claim consensus National Champs if the beat IMG?

The latest is that it would be Corner Canyon v SFA. Nobody should be able to claim anything, other than the cash the sponsors are paying.

So what would be the purpose of this and why would anyone watch?.... What is the event you are talking about?.... Doesn't really make sense....

A game nobody cares about. Why waste the money.

They should just reschedule to next weekend and be done with it.

That man from the other site posed a rumor back in September about a "Final 4" happening with SFA, IMG, I think Bishop and UT (Corner Canyon).

The purpose was originally to have it be the 'national championship game' as planned back in September. It wouldn't matter that SFA already lost to Bosco. Now it serves no purpose other than a feel good story in the event that the sponsors don't mind losing money and want to still pay out $500K total and have the game played in front of 300 people. The sad thing is that it would have generated great interest if it was played this weekend as originally planned. It's too bad the sponsors couldn't get on board for that.

Thanks! I'm wondering how they will market this game. Are they still calling it the National Championship game? Winner takes all? If they do still call it that, then how do they explain CC being moved to #2 over IMG? Hmmm

Thanks for Clarifying!.... So According to was Sea Shells said this event was going to be IMG, SFA, Corner Canyon and BG....
So a "National Champion" would be crowned by beating teams that already lost to MD and SJB and Some Utah team... The real prize looks like $$, which is just fine and I think if that is advertised then you may some interest in it....
I would be interested in it to see BG play SFA and IMG, I think they would win it.... And If BG won it they would definitely have a Claim to any National Championship Discussion....
To your point though, if they just played the IMG/SFA game this weekend or next that would be fine.... I just don't see how that 4 team event would be financially viable with paying for teams to travel and a $500k purse.... The total cost has to be over $1 Million just to put on 2 HSFB games, How are they going to fund that and make any money?.....

Yes, a MNC would have been crowned in at least in one opinion poll even though SFA already lost to SJB, because we were told that results back from Sept 5 no longer matter, and neither do results from ongoing state playoffs matter. But definitely the real prize would be the money. SFA can use it unless Biff is still writing checks.

That seems pretty presumptuous. Maybe even arrogant.

HA!!... That's Forsure!.... So is SFA going to Play BG for the $500k?.... That would be interesting.... I can't imagine they would just play Corner Canyon.... They might as well just light their $500k on fire at that point.... 🤣

This is what the computers currently think about Corner Canyon vs. SFA
